Dolce Napoli is an authentic Italian cuisine restaurant located in the heart of Balmain.
As you approach the restaurant, there is a real Italian vibe through the architecture of the building, decoration, tableware and italian music playing in the background. Dolce Napoli isn’t packed like other Italian, it’s a smaller venue while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere where you can enjoy your food and conversation over the over the table.
Dolce Napoli menu is simple, they don’t overly offer too many dishes, just keeping it to a good range and variety to choose from including: antipasto, stone baked pizzas, fresh daily made pasta, risotto, 2 main dishes, salads, kids menu, desserts and drinks.
We ordered truffle pizza, seafood risotto, spaghetti alla norma, caprese salad, bruschetta, panna cotta and tiramisu (shared between 5 people). You can really tell the difference between a good and bad stone baked pizza, Dolce does not disappoint and you’ll end up eating the crust as well. Both the risotto and spaghetti were delicious except both my wife and mother found it a bit salty, while my dad and I agreed it was acceptable. Both Bruschetta & caprese salad were nice however the portion was small for its price. And both desserts were probably one of the best Italian desserts in Sydney I’ve tasted.
I was pleasantly surprised how fast the food got served out to our table. Staff members were friendly and table service was...

Read moreI came here years a few times a few years ago when a friend lived nearby, and I have just realised that I had never left a review. My attention was drawn to this by the recent media attention for this establishment boycotting Uber and DoorDash.
Firstly, kudos for doing so, 30 per cent commissions are outrageous, not to mention the drivers’ of these corporations are awful, rude and careless.
These companies are also ripping customers’ off by slapping an additional 10 per surcharge per item on orders. Small businesses do not ever see ANY of these profits. It’s unsustainable and with the current state of the economy we need to support small and quality businesses like this one, now more than ever before.
I recall the fantastic service and incredible food I received when dining in here. As a coeliac, it’s not often I can “relax” when eating at a restaurant nor can I usually have options or choices on what to eat. The wait staff, each time, were really accomodating of dietary restrictions and the food was amazing every time!
Message to anyone reading this—you don’t need Uber or DoorDash to enjoy a nice dinner. If you’re a local, just drive and pick up your order. Even better, enjoy the atmosphere and terrific service by dining in this lovely restaurant instead.
While I don’t live particularly close anymore, I hope to...
