Sea wave Thai Restaurant Avalon beach — Restaurant in Sydney

I booked online but there was no booking when we arrived. The young girl asked me about 4 times what time I had made the booking for, regardless she gave us a table. That was our big mistake the service was poor we were served the wrong dish by the manager/owner. We ordered Pad Thai with prawns, they were they biggest prawns I have ever seen, unfortunately they were cold and overcooked, there was a huge mass of brownish noodles with a bit of egg and nothing else. The taste was awful. The next dish (the correct one this time) was supposed to be a stir fry with a salmon steak with vegetables in a ginger garlic. The salmon was coated in some sort of strange batter with sesame seeds (exactly the same as the first incorrect dish that came out), once again the vegetables were completely cold, and tasteless and the fish smelled a bit old. The whole meal was totally inedible. I called over the manager/owner and said we couldn't eat the food it was so bad, his response was oh ok. So we left the restaurant as it was starting to fill with cooking fumes and smoke, never to return. Lunch menu for 2. Very bad experience. 1. The wrong dish was delivered. 2. Second dish, the yellow curry, was served without vegetables that were listed on the menu and did not taste like yellow curry. Neither of the dishes were “hot”, which we specifically requested. I brought this to their attention and whilst I was prepared to settle the account with the intention of never returning again, I would have expected at least an offer to reduce the price or some other incentive to rectify the numerous mishaps. Seriously impressed with this place. Have tried all the Thai restaurants in Avalon - this is the best. Massamun Curry, Spring Rolls, Large Tom Yum Soup with prawns all for around $60. The Massamun was actually the best I’ve tried. And the portions were big. We still heaps left over. Thoroughly recommend!!!!!
