A small local business reopening in Kingsford, still fairly new. It was great to see another shop face filled as Kingsford used to be a main thoroughfare for UNSW students, RPA hospital, and the surrounding private high schools.
I love that it's an all-day cafe as this is the point of difference along a predominantly asian dominated cusine street, Asian owned but cafe/bristro European food which is good for all day breakfast.
First impressions signage makes it a bit confusing as it has a big burger poster up the front on entry, then an all-day breakfast menu on the wall with no burger mention which what drew me in the first place.
All Good, I went for the all-day brekey. Instead, I ordered a breakfast bagle and the bacon and egg roll with BBQ. The service was friendly and fast, but a little menu direction would have helped as I saw the burger menu on the bench to the left of the register, which is a missed sale I would have bought lunch instead if mentioned also. While waiting, I noticed there was no music playing to create a ambience in the shop, also the food cabinet is to the left to the register which is a big downfall as customer cannot see products which could be a great add on to the customer's orders so missed opportunity.
Food came out 7 to 10 minutes after as only one person was working, and it presented well. Nice and clean with a presentation sheet underneath. The staff got me cutlery and tissues, which is always a plus, although I'm not too bougee to get my own.
The food was hot and fresh, which is a plus. There was no check back or clearing of table if your looking for that type of service it's not that type of cafe, but if your looking for a standard breakfast which is quick and fast then support this local.
I will return to try their ghost burger because it's a local in my area as I hate supporting big franchise cafes.

Read moreI went in for dinner at around 7pm today. The waiter with black framed glasses there was extremely rude. I ordered the mala pot and simply asked whether they could make it not spicy for me. And he was like what kinda stupid question is that how could mala pot be not spicy. I was so shocked when I heard it and didn’t even know how to react. I thought I accidentally went to karen’s diner for a second. He sounded like I was uncultured and never had malatang in my life. This was my first time eating there but I’ve had malatang elsewhere multiple times. Some other places could make it for me that’s why I was politely asking. Even if they couldn’t make it he could just say no instead of giving me attitude and being super rude to his customers. I have never written a negative feedback on a restaurant before but this is certainly my worst dining experience ever. There are plenty of Malatang restaurants around the area so if you want a decent experience and not paying to get roasted by a waiter, please go to other restaurants nearby. Food wasn’t cheap either and tasted very average. That bowl of mala pot costed me $36. I really hope that his boss sees this post and do...
Read moreWe love this restaurant! The kids in particular love choosing what to add to their soup. For 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids), we share 2 soups and it costs roughly $60 (5% discount for cash). We love the tomato base as while it has a super mild kick, it isn’t spicy. Have been coming here for ages and tonight brought my parents. When sending them this Google link we saw all the bad reviews and were shocked. It’s such good quality food for a great price. It’s not fancy and doesn’t try to be either. Arrive at 5pm to avoid the queue for dinner and get all the freshly restocked produce. Tonight unfortunately there was no broccoli, but there was plenty other food to choose from. Love the complimentary condiments/toppings too. Haven’t tried the stir fry, not a fan of the skewers that are fried not BBQ. We’ll be back and will keep sharing with...
