Today was our second time here, a lovely, relaxing atmosphere with delicious food and laid back service, though some servers stand out more than others. The guy was very helpful to find us a table in the extremely busy breakfast time on Friday morning. The vanilla granola was the best we’ve ever had! We even bought a pack to take home, as they sell their homemade granola in packages. Their gluten free bread is also incredible homemade with sesame seeds and tasting like a delicious sourdough. As someone who’s gluten-free, I can confidently say it’s the best gluten-free bread I’ve ever had! My partner enjoyed his israeli breakfast with a bit of everything! We live an hour away but we’ll be back definitely!!
EDIT:
I would like to bring some issues to your attention. We have been here four times in the last week and came back today. The girl taking orders at the register was very rude and didn’t know the menu. My partner ordered ‘The Mediterranean Plate with the Chicken Skewers.’ This is exactly how he said it when he was ordering. She obviously had no idea, there was a huge language barrier, a lack of knowledge about the menu, and a rude personality combined!
He first ordered the ginger tea. She said, “We don’t have ginger tea.” He said he had it two days ago. Then she asked someone, and that person said, “We have ginger lemon tea yes.” Obviously, that’s the one when you say ginger tea! Also he never said ginger lemon tea last week at all but of course it’s common sense all the other servers got us the ginger tea straight away without any confusion.
He also ordered the shakshuka for me and The Mediterranean Plate with the Chicken Skewer for himself, but his order came out wrong. It was the shawarma. He went back to the register, and she said, “You said chicken skewer.” He replied that he had said, “The Mediterranean Plate with the Chicken Skewer.” She didn’t accept her mistake and rudely blamed him!!! It was obvious that she misunderstood because she didn’t know the menu.
Then she called someone else, and that person asked him what he ordered. He repeated, “The Mediterranean Plate with the Chicken Skewer.” Then they called someone else, and that person corrected the order. NO APOLOGIES, NO SORRY by the order taker !!! She was still blaming my partner for her mistake !!!
Customer service was terrible today! I ate my shakshuka all alone, and then his order finally arrived, and he ate his meal alone! We weren’t happy at all.
I am attaching a photo of the server who got our order completely wrong, refused to accept her mistake, and didn’t even say “sorry”! She should have acknowledged her mistake and apologized to the...
Read moreIf I could leave a 0 star review, I definitely would. I am a food blogger and I have been to this cafe plenty of times in the last 2 years, I have brought a lot of business to this cafe by recommending it to friends and family. After todays experience, it's safe to say I will never return again. This place is not what it used to be. The cutlery was unbelievably dirty, the cups had lipstick stains and when asked to be replaced, I did not receive an apology for it. The waitstaff are beyond un-phased by customer satisfaction and could honestly not be bothered for anyone. Not only did they make 18 mistakes, they did not apologise once despite my unpleasant tone due to the service I was receiving. When we tried calling for assistance, the waitress stood at the table in front of us and spoke to her guy friends for about 15 minutes and walked off without helping us. I had to ask for my coffee 5 times and it came in a mug when I asked for it take away, they then brought my coffee finally after we had finished our meals, it was half full, I had to walk inside and stress my anger to the waitstaff who did not apologise. Not only did they overcharge us for the wrong thing, we had to ask for the food that did not come out at all, in a takeaway container. We also did not receive any of our juices whilst we were eating until we had to ask for it the 2nd time. By then, we were ready to leave so we had to down our drinks so that we could go. I cannot fathom the service we received today, I will definitely be acknowledging this on my food blogging social media platforms to warn anyone who may want to go. I visit restaurants 3-4 times a week and can safely say I have never ever had such a horrible experience. Disgusting. And also, to the waitresses who were speaking in their own language right next to our table (which I understood) badmouthing me and my family and laughing at us for no reason, you should never be able to serve someone in your life. Cannot believe I am writing this about a cafe I use to love...
Read moreI had a terrible experience on 28th September , 2025 around 2.30 pm. I believe it has to do with my brown race. Recounted below and I would like to get the owners perspective / response on the incident.
I was standing in line to order ( only one customer in front of me ). When I got to the front of the line, the woman at the counter stepped back and left me waiting for no clear reason- she wasn’t doing anything else either . I waited patiently without saying anything ; when she finally took my order (just two small pastries), she told me the total was $40. Surprised, I asked for a breakdown of the price. Instead of giving me the price, she sighed and said abruptly “ it’s the weekend surcharge” expecting me to just pay now. I still asked for the breakdown at which point the total changed to $20. No apology was offered for the mistake or for almost charging me double or expecting me to pay without question.
Later, when the same staff member brought the pastries to my table , she rolled her eyes at me. When I returned to order a juice at 3pm (the café is listed as closing at 4pm), she told me they were closed. Another staff member overheard and said they could still make it. ( i will give the benefit to the woman , maybe the kitchen closes at 3 pm). She brought the juice out in a takeaway glass , clearly indicating I should leave. Again, the cafe is listed as closing at 4 pm. All others around me were having their beverages in proper glasses and mugs.
Overall, the service made me feel very unwelcome. When I asked the staff member directly if she had a problem, she eventually apologised, but it didn’t feel genuine at all.
I want to ask the owner - could the way I was treated have had anything to do with my race? that’s how it came across. I am brown and I hope the anti immigration protest is not part of...
