Soul Burger - Glebe — Restaurant in Sydney

So.... I went to this establishment with my partner. We were quite impressed on arrival with the cleanliness and the fine art within the store. We ordered and spoke to a well educated, highly intelligent individual, my partner and myself looked at each other after ordering and went ... wow! They obviously put effort into the selection of the staff who are front and centre of this well promoted burger joint. We then proceeded to sit down at the bench seat facing the street for a entertaining and exciting view whilst eating our two juicy and delicious burgers. Whilst sitting there enjoy watching the people and cars go by whilst sipping on our two lovely refreshments the highly gifted and excited waitress walked over with our meals and placed them down in front of us. Once placed in front of us we both looked at the burgers with a look of “they must be better than they look”. Once taking our first bite we were mortified with the results! The pure rage and anger was something I have never felt towards food before! I couldn’t believe it. To charge such an exuberant amount of money for two of the lowest quality burgers that have ever been allowed inside of my lips and mouth hole was both shocking and torturous. Very unimpressed and will not recommend anyone to you ever for the rest of my long life. The chips are very clearly from coles whilst the “mayo” ohhh the Mayo. It was like they had literally squeezed the juice from 30 mushrooms and then added some sort of cow digested grass that had exited the bowels of a cow.... Really disappointed with my experience today. I have always liked Soul Burger, but this morning I ordered food through Deliveroo and once the food was ready it was over an hour before the food was collected as there were no available riders. I called the restaurant to find out what was going on. The girl on the phone, told me it wasn't their fault Deliveroo were late and there was nothing she could do about it. I specifically told her I didn't want food that had been sat for over an hour and I asked if they could make the food again so it was fresh. She also told me I would need to contact Deliveroo myself to find out what was going on. Her customer service was terrible and I ended the conversation feeling irritated. I contacted Deliveroo myself and they were really helpful, they apologized for the delay and my food ended up arriving shortly after. When I opened the food it was freezing cold and the sauces for the sides were missing. I understand they are not responsible for the time taken for the delivery driver to arrive, but surely you wouldn't send food out that had been sitting for over an hour. As you've already probably guessed Soul Burger is a vegan burger restaurant. This branch at Glebe Point road has seating, but for probably up to about 20 people. If you live in the area, you might want to consider a delivery service like Deliveroo instead.

The food is what you'd expect from any vegan burger place. It doesn't taste like meat, but doesn't taste like plant either. Whether a burger is good or just average depends on the actual burger itself, your experience will vary. As long as you're not expecting to be eating meat, you'll be fine.

One good thing about all vegan places, for me, is that it also means they're dairy free. For lactose intolerant people like myself, it's a real treat when I can have a milkshake and not worry about any after-effects.
