the prices here are incredibly cheap (i got a pad thai for $10.70) so if you care deeply about prices, this is one of the cheapest places for lunch/dinner on glebe pt rd. the food is good, although the pad thai didn't have a whole lot of sauce and could've had a vegetable or two like capsicum or some leafy green. the pad thai at tom yum tum gang is better, especially if you eat in, because they have way more sauce so there's a stronger flavour. there would probably have been more sauce on the pad thai if i had eaten in, but there's still more on the tom yum tum gang takeout. a major benefit of thai on wok is that they're open on a tuesday, when tom yum tum gang is shut. so if you're craving thai on a tuesday it's the obvious choice. the service was very good, and the food was made very quickly (less than ten minutes, probably five or six). if i tried to make pad thai it would probably take an hour, so i was impressed by that. as a thai restaurant generally, it is good, but as a thai restaurant on glebe pt rd, it has stiff...

And they are still the best Thai restaurant in Sydney (and probably the country).
The pumpkin and chicken stir fry is breathtakingly amazing. So soft, tasty, and a depth that will leave you at peace.
And the Tom Yum will cure any hangover. It's gods soup. It's so incredible that you'll never be able to eat another Thai Tom Yum soup again.
I could rabbit on about all the dishes. Satay chicken that is better then most restaurants signature dishes.
I've been eating at Thai on Wok for 20 years, since they opened and they are one of the few restaurants that has consistently gotten 10/10 dishes that they make day in day out for some of the cheapest prices in Sydney.
The new restaurant should end the final and only complaint that the whinges whine about "the restaurant is sooo yucky and messy and noisy". The new place is incredibly swish and lovely.
But like I said a decade who cares about what a place looks like when they have the best food...

Staff was ok, but extremely rushed and really needs to take some time when serving a table. Just placing food on the table anywhere you can find an empty spot and rushing off does not provide for an overall pleasant experience. Adding to the impression of slight sloppiness was that one ordered dish (it was a side) never came.
On the positive side as I mentioned was the food and also that before we even knew it, we sat down and were served tap water immediately. It was a hot day, so that was appreciated. That the water was not cooled - that was not appreciated.
I was struggling between two and three stars, but the fact that the place has a cash only policy makes it easy to decide. There is no excuse for...
