Late lunch and inbetween appointments. Spice Market catches my eye from the bus.
Simple decor with long wooden tables & chairs a pleasing alternative to the cheap & cheerful plastic.
Noone in the restaurant had me cautious to the food quality, they had a lunch offering and I took Pad Se Ew with crispy pork belly.
Delivered within 10 mins, whilst tge portion size looked a tad smaller than my usual spot, the dark tamarind colour was evident. Lots of kale, carrots & bok chuy with a generous serving of the crispy (beautifully crispy) pork belly.
Sorry, no time for pics (I wasn't expecting to do a review). Inhaled the dish it was absolutely one of the better Pad Se Ew I have wrapped my connoisseur taste buds around.
Definitely, 5* for the food and the serve was OK, nothing to complain or write about. If you're looking for that quick bite versus a leisurely meal... I definitely recommend...
Read moreWe ordered take out tonight from this place. What was delivered was not restaurant food...it was simply disguising and we had to dispose of it...we had waited over an hour for delivery. We had to re-order dinner from another place which fortunately provided a happy outcome. Take out is a phenomenon that is really evolved in the recent months ....we had expectations based on so many other fine experiences. Not realised on this occasion......this standard was at the opposite end of the spectrum...appreciably the worst we have experienced over the last three months. I have to recommend against ordering from this place.....it was so sub-standard it entered my thinking that it may have negative implications for our immediate well being...indeed why it was so quickly...
Read moreAppalling quality...I've had better $5 bargain boxes...Guys just a word of warning, this restaurant's conception of a 'spicy' dish is to provide something so inedibly spicy that it causes one to have a major, major bowel disruption...we ordered the chilli basil chicken, it arrived several hours after ordering (not their fault, no Uber drivers available), ripped in, one bite told me it was going to be a very flogged experience...unbelievable that people make such things in this day and age, just completely drenched in chill spice...I'd imagine this would be ok for maybe 1 in 100 people who enjoy very, very spicy food, so spicy that you cant taste anything else, whatever happened to culinary pride...avoid this place...
