The ways that Sun Ho’s management / front desk dealt with their mismanagement of staff and tried to gaslight their patrons were simply uncalled for.
Mistakes happen, especially during busy hours, and can often be overlooked as long as rectified at first instance. We did not mind waiting as long as our order was placed. However, after 50 mins of waiting with tables around us all having received their food, and not one staff checking in with us (we were a large table of 8 and so not easy to miss), I approached the front desk to check if our order was placed. The front desk did not bother to check and straight up told me that it is with the kitchen. It was not until I flagged down a waitress 1 hr 15 mins into our wait was it then discovered that our order was never placed with the kitchen. They could not locate our order (despite having said that our order was with the kitchen when I first followed up).
Strangely enough, rather than apologising for this oversight, the front desk approached our table and asked us to identify the staff member that took our order. We honestly could not remember as it was more than an hour ago and all staff wore masks, and we replied accordingly. Personally, I don’t understand why a customer was being asked that question. We then re-ordered our food which arrived at the table steadily thereafter (some cold), but not once did anyone apologise for the wait or addressed what went wrong / why we had to reorder after 1 hr 15 mins of waiting. At this point, it wasn’t so much about the wait anymore, but more their attitude and attempt to gaslight us for their own mistakes (we had to reorder because we couldn’t tell them who took our order?).
We brought up the situation with front desk as we settled our bill, and surprisingly were asked again by the same lady at the front desk (for the third time by now) - who took our order. She gaslit us by accusing us of being rude when we told her why we couldn’t answer her question. She then attempted to twist the facts, saying that she had checked with the kitchen the first time we followed up and rectified the issue immediately, to which we said that is simply not true because we had to follow up a second time. The front desk lady did eventually apologise when she could no longer find ways to blame us or downplay their mistakes …but the whole experience was just unnecessarily unpleasant because of the front desk’s attempts at gaslighting and blaming us for their...

Read moreSun Ho is located on the first floor of Campsie RSL club. It’s busy during the day for yumcha and quiet at night. On recommendation, we were told the food was very nice and the restaurant was not busy at night. With Covid still around, we wanted to avoid the crowd so Sun Ho was perfect choice. The dining area is spacious, large enough for 300 people at least for a function. There were not many occupied tables, max I’d say there were less than 10 table with no more than 5 people on each table. So you can easily have a good conversation and enjoy your meal. On the menu there is a selection of ale carte dishes, seafood dishes and banquet options. We choose a 4 person banquet meal ($66) plus crab with vermicelli ($88). The dish portions are decent, price is fair, but the taste is average for our liking. Service is quick, we arrived around 5:30 and ordered by 5:45pm and food served by 6 and we were out by 7. Sun Ho is a serves decent food for decent prices but don’t expect top quality food compared to other restaurants in the area such as golden territory seafood. (You pay what you get)
Review 2: After going back several time due to the affordable prices, i have slowly start to realise the food is only average. If you have tried many of there dishes you’ll have notice an excessive use of corn starch to create a thickening in the sauce. Even though it brings the dish together and keeps the dish warm, you’ll only see this in a low end restaurant or should I say an old age technique.
Secondly the service was horrendous, the night was busy with approximately 75% capacity. There is no manager on the floor, just one lady taking orders, one lady delivering food out to tables and one cashier. On a side note as the lady served us she accidentally knocked my beer over and it literally wet my shorts and top. All she did was apologies, give me some napkins and say sorry. I was not even offered a free beer instead I had to buy my own. Appalling service!
If you want to order seafood dishes such as crab they say there is none, they said it needs to be offered 1 week in advance. Same storey for pipi (fyi pipi isn’t live,...
