Tasty dishes at reasonable prices. Servings are just right: not too big, not too small, but if you are extra hungry, entree with a main is perfect.
My group ordered various dishes: spring rolls, chicken karaage bento, unagi (eel) bento and chicken terriyaki, and spicy pork ramen (no photo).
Update: recent visit, I ordered fried eggplant with miso sauce as well as my usual fave, unagi bento. Yum! I love eggplant, so this dish was pretty good, but I wanted more sauce! If you don't like soggy or mushy vegetables, you might not like it, it's similar to baked eggplant.
Update 2: went back again, and ordered the creamy crab croquettes, which is also my favourite. Yummy! But I wanted their home made tartare sauce, got terriyaki sauce instead.
All the dishes are delicious and I'm slowly working my way through their sushi items. This time I had the unagi bento. At $25.80, this bento is very good value. Comes with two pieces of potato croquettes, two pieces of gyōza, two pieces of spring rolls, three pieces of salmon sashimi, edamame (soy beans). A complete meal without having to order entree.
Also, their green tea is the good quality genmai cha (roasted rice green tea), not the tea bag kind.
Service can be slow, only one lady serving and one chef in the kitchen. Which means if the restaurant is full (Max at around 20 diners), you can be waiting a little bit before your dishes come out.
However in saying that, both the staff (owners?) are very friendly. Would recommend to go early for dinner, their rush hours seem to be around 1830-1900.
Definitely will keep coming back. Lovely little restaurant...

Read moreIt’s not so much the food being the reason for the 2 stars but more the menu, the service and the actual restaurant itself. I went out of my way to go to this restaurant due to the claims of the friendly service great reviews but disappointingly, this was not my experience. When I walked into the restaurant, it had an unpleasant lingering odour, and the service was not friendly or welcoming to the point that I had to ask if they were open. This initial experience, in combination with a menu that from my perspective was not so appealing, was the reason I ordered only one dish. The agedashi tofu was nice, not the worst I have had but not the best either. When I went to pay for my meal with my card, their appeared to be a bit of a problem as the wait staff spoke loudly and argued to the person who took my card (perhaps they wanted to place a surcharge on my bill because I only purchased one dish?). It was not a pleasant dining experience for me at all, and I could not recommend this restaurant to anybody based on my own experience this evening. Based on the reviews, I expected...
