BEWARE OF BAD SERVICE
Hi to people reading this review, just got home from this Thai Paragon, and can i just say it was TERRIBLE. Let me start by saying my partner and i eat out on the weekends as a way to reward ourselves for a long week and time spending of cause.
Ok I'll cut to the chase, below is the rating out of 10 i give to this place.
Service Score 1 out of 10
Came in got seated right away ( as store is empty) didn't get served for over 15 min until walked out to counter and said "CAN WE ORDER"
First thing we ask for was cold ice tea and a lemon tea, waiter came back with hot green tea (i stared) and she said "oh sorry we don't have the cold green tea". You cant assume we wanted hot tea? Especially with hot weather outside. Terrible service ......if it wasn't for my partner........
Quality of food (taste and freshness) over all 3 out of 10
Taste= 3 Freshness= 2
My duck and massaman curry was BAD!! i have had a lot of Thai food in my life and this is by far the worst!
The chilli basil duck was terrible, and by that i mean the duck was freaken old it wasn't even fresh duck and out of the entire plate only one tenth of the plate was duck the rest was just vegetable? Mine-due it was cooked by a terrible chef as the duck seem to have fallen apart into the dish and became a part of the sauce no actually duck to be found only duck skin....
And the beef massaman curry, the beef had no flavour and really tasted like it was heated up in the microwave and sauce was poured over it.
Honestly the is the worst experience i had with Thai food and i cant applaud everyone who is reading this enough to NOT EAT HERE.
I wouldn't be saying all of these things if the asking price of these meals was not $20+ on a dish some even $25-30
CONCLUSION Don't waste time and money with this place, when eating out its all about the experience and the customer service here was the worst and food quality is trailing far behind as well.
2 dish and 2 drinks cost us $59.70 not worth it. Take my advice there are plenty of other places to eat quality food for a quarter...
Read moreWhen it comes to Thai food in Sydney, consistency and balance of flavours are what make a restaurant stand out. A recent visit to Thai Paragon in North Strathfield highlighted exactly that – a menu that delivers comfort, authenticity, and variety.
We began with some classic appetisers. The dim sims were soft and delicate, paired with a light sweet-vinegar sauce, while the money bags offered a crispy bite with a filling of chicken, shiitake, and water chestnut. The prawn dumplings (hacao) were a definite highlight, silky and juicy with the added crunch of shallots and a drizzle of garlic oil.
For mains, we enjoyed a chicken tom yum soup that was fragrant and warming, with notes of lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves shining through. Alongside it, a simple chicken egg fried rice worked as a satisfying comfort dish – fluffy and well-seasoned.
The soft shell crab with yellow sauce was bold and creamy, offering both crunch and richness, while the BBQ chicken brought out smoky chargrilled flavours balanced with vegetables and a mild chilli sauce.
The Chilli Garlic King Prawns are incredible! Jumbo prawns wok-fried in a fragrant chilli–garlic sauce, topped with crispy garlic and shallots. Bursting with flavour and perfectly balanced in spice — a must-try for Thai seafood lovers!
The mocktails are a refreshing delight! From the zesty Blue Lemonade to the fruity Watermelon Mint, each drink is perfectly balanced, vibrant, and the ideal companion to Thai flavours. A must-try for a cool, flavourful sip!
Overall, the experience at Thai Paragon was marked by generous portions, thoughtful presentation, and a balance of flavours that leaned authentic without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a casual lunch, a family dinner, or even a relaxed catch-up with friends, knowing the food will be...
Read moreA terrible experience to be welcomed back into the restaurant scene after restrictions have been eased.
I had asked several times for somebody to wipe down the sticky table, which was never addressed and made the dinning experience unpleasant.
The BBQ squid was served with some pieces cold and warm, i assume it was pre-cooked and a pathetic attempt at re-heating was done. The side of lemon wedge which came with the BBQ squid was a refrigerated, dehydrated, old and not suitable to eat. It was not at all fresh produce as you state. I asked for another fresh slice, same thing was given to me and my partner. Not suitable for human consumption.
The floor was disgustingly sticky, i assume no sanitation has been done for neither floor or tables. The chairs, an uncomfortable experience which felt like it was about to break any moment and sticky to touch. I assume no general cleaning duties were scheduled that day?
Being able to see service staff drink/eat in a customers view probably not a good indication for a restaurants hygiene/ food safety practices are all in correct order or any training for staff to perhaps avoid in the dinning area?
The staff were pleasant, the soft shell crab was nice. The Lemon lime bitters and red wine was the only thing i enjoyed. That's about it.
I don't recommend this place until they clean up. A letter has been written to both council and food & health safety department in regards to the hygiene/Food standard conditions of...
