Thai Society — Restaurant in Sydney

We order here frequently for pick up but first time we tried a home delivery service as it was mums birthday. I called to place the order but was asked to order online for delivery. I do so and 20mins later (normal) i receive a text that a delivery has been set up by thai society with uber. 15mins after that the order is picked up. We are local so the expectation (and as advertised ) was that ther delivery take up to 10mins (ie 40mins all up) . From placement of order to actual doorstep delivery took over 1.5hrs! During this time we contacted the restaurant expressing our concerns that the food was not going to be good to eat after sitting in a car so long, let alone safe. Whilst we were offered a replacement meal we refused as it was very late into the evening and were not happy to wait all over again. We requested a refund as the food was going to be tossed and at the time it was verbally agreed. Two days later after no refund in sight the restaurant call to offer a 10% voucher for the inconvenience "uber" had caused. We were outraged with the fact that they refused to take ownership for what had happened and for taking back their word of issuing a refund. update: We purchased again one week later and husband ordered a different dish. Both were very good and this time I got an impressive array of vegetables and lots of prawns. Thank you.

I ordered Prawn Laksa with vegetables. I got charged extra for vegetables and when I got home the only vegetable inside was a piece of coriander. The noodles are plain thin spaghetti that fall apart. The soup base had a very nice flavor the tofu and prawns were very nice too. This place is very hit and miss and the Laksa appears to be made differently every time I've ordered it. I ordered a take away pad Thai. Normally the food is great, however upon eating my meal, I found a large cooked cockroach in the pad Thai. I was absolutely shocked. I went back to show the staff the container + a photo and they were really good about the situation. They refunded me and apologised and said it can’t be from the restaurant because they receive the pre-cooked meals via delivery. This part confused me as it says the meals are cooked fresh daily. Regardless the roach would have had to been in the kitchen and cooked with the meal as it was a sandy colour and smooshed. Sadly, I don’t think I can eat Thai food again because of this.
