I wish I can give negative stars.

I bought groupon deal for breakfast before pandemic lock down. I was not able to make a booking during the valid time.

I contact them before the voucher expired date on 17 Aug 2020 for extension of the due date. A girl answered the phone and said she cannot make the decision but will ask her manager to call me back, I didnt hear anything till 25 Aug 2020 so I called again same answer.

This morning I went to the cafe in person and hopefully I could use the voucher or book a time for the future.

A girl in the cashier saying its only valid for weekday, I said I understand that so Can I make a booking now for the future week day? An asian dumped in the conversation and saying you need to book via groupon. I told him I understand this but my voucher has been expired, I couldn't book via groupon anymore I called few times but no one return my call. He questioned me who did I talk to and said its groupon's problem nothing to do with them, they didnt get anything from groupon- How is that possible a deal selling online has nothing to do with his cafe.

His extremely poor attitude towards a potential customer has really surprised me. I raised my voice and questioned him if he signed up a deal with groupon how his business has nothing to do with this deal???

At this time the girl in the cashier passed me a piece of paper and ask me to write down the number and her manager will call me back. Based on the previous call experience to this place, I have no reason to trust them to call me back.

The guy said : dont talk to me with this attitude. I will ask you to leave. then he walked outside. I didnt get a solution from this place and will contact groupon for future detail.

I bought few other local deals on groupon before or during pandemic. One place gave me an extension due to the special circumstances. Its really depend on the business.

If he keep running his business like this, his business will...

Heading up north weekends, found ourselves into a relatively remote area- Cammeray, a peaceful residential area. You won't spot a ton of shops around, but this little corner cafe definitely stands out. It's no secret that this cafe thrives on the warmth of local love, especially evident from its bustling weekend crowd.

Stepping inside, the ambiance takes the spotlight – earthy, quirky, a touch of vintage charm. A real wood fire crackles, and even the air conditioner plays along with this woody vibe. It's like being cozied up in a jungle treehouse.

The roasted pumpkin special of the day was tailored for my liking - roasted pumpkin, rockets, poached egg, avocado, cherry tomatoes, mushroom. Every element was well seasoned. The salmon bagel was a classic, a bit more cream cheese would’ve been nice. Now, let's talk coffee – surprisingly delightful and deserving of a special shoutout.

In this laid-back corner of Cammeray, this spot is all about that local charm and some good eats and seriously...

We arrived at 7.45 am for Sunday brekky. At 7.55 we received a menu and at the same time ordered coffee. 15 minutes later we received coffee and placed our brekky order. 35minutes later, after several calls to staff, the waitress who took our order said it was misplaced and apologised for the losing our order.Naturally we walked out. This place is clearly for those who only want coffee as they get first preference in ordering. We noted that one of the baristas had a sneezing attack all over the coffee he was preparing.without covering his mouth. We were seated in close proximity to the serving area but were totally ignored by the staff. We walked out minus brekky and went to Castlecrag (Martha's). We arrived there at 9am as the first guests. Left after a marvellous breakfast at 9.30 and noted that the place was full and everyone was eating. They also had a lot less staff. Alchemist you need to get some decent staff training. Why you get the accolades in your other...

The Alchemist instantly qualified as an urban gem. It's hidden away from the main drag in Cammeray, and that's how I like it, and I am sure the locals are glad too! I encountered some of the best coffee I have had this year. The baristas execute both milk based and Single origin filter coffees expertly. The ambience is warm and welcoming. In winter, a fire crackles away, and a huge communal table allows the diner to escape away with a book or bury themselves in work without ever feeling rushed. I enjoyed the granola bowl with fresh fruit and yoghurt with a passionfruit swirl. Sandwiches are top notch too, try the roast beef sanga for example! Look for the old school VB sign as you drive down Carter St and you won't be disappointed!

Wow, just had the best time at The Alchemist Espresso! ☕️ Seriously, their coffee is like magic – so rich and flavorful, I can't get enough. And let's talk about the food! 🍔🍰 It's not your typical coffee shop grub; it's next-level delicious. They've nailed the combo of great coffee and awesome eats. But the real MVPs? The staff. Super friendly, like chatting with friends. You can tell they love what they do. The vibe here is just so chill – perfect spot to unwind or catch up with pals. If you're into good coffee, tasty food, and a laid-back vibe, The Alchemist Espresso is your spot. 10/10, would recommend for a great time and even greater flavors! 👌
