The Farm Norwest Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

Came here on a lunch break looking forward to try their food. At the point of sale I tapped my card and it processed the sale. The owner rudely proceeded to say that I hadn’t paid for the order multiple times in anger. I showed the owner my deducted amount from my phone to prove that the sale went through. He kept telling me that I didn’t pay for it and he got flustered. (What kind of boss gets flustered over a little manner). He then told me to step aside so he could serve other customers in a very rude and disregarded way. The sale approved on the eftpos after a while. When I took a seat to wait for my food he had the audacity to come and show me that the transaction was cancelled and he “didn’t take my money” but did not explain the transaction after it that I clearly saw was approved. He didn’t apologise for any misunderstanding so he didn’t deserve a thank you when he gave my food. So rude, never coming back.

Update: the owner approached my table after posting the one star review. Just when I thought he came to solve the situation he made it worse… he questioned our one star review and told us that it wasn’t fair to other customers during lunch hour that he will need to spend 3 hours to resolve our situation. Word of advice: you don’t need three hours, you need manners. He was more concerned that a customer was accusing him for double charging (which wasn’t the case). I had three other people with me who witnessed the most unprofessional behaviour when dealing with a situation. I had to ask the owner what he wanted from me because he wasn’t allowing anyone to speak and disregarded anything we had to say as customers with “no no, listen!”. I get that you need to make sales as a business owner but it doesn’t mean you have to see every customer as a dollar sign and not take in any feedback. When this place first opened up, I was pretty excited because it looked like a 5 Star café! But honestly, the coffee taste is only slightly better than Michel’s... which is a massive chain.

The food is expensive and I personally have never walked away impressed. Cafe Cherry Beans has better food options and prices.

The reason for two stars: on a very slow Saturday morning I ordered a Double Shot Latte... someone had left 2 COLD shots on the coffee machine just to sit there, and it had been nearly 5 minutes since I saw them sitting there. (If you know anything about coffee, you DONT leave a shot to get cold and then pour it into a new drink) apparently, they don’t know that. I ordered from the MANAGER & I saw him get a new coffee cup, and secretly pour one of the cold shots into my cup as he made a new one...

WHO DOES THAT! Like how much money can you possibly save by giving me that cold shot. That made me so upset, I told the guy making coffee (the manager/owner) and he tried to tell me that the shot was JUST poured. Which is just not true.

Yes, He still made me a new coffee. But only after I caught him and argued with him for a fresh shot. Is that too much to ask for?! I mean... it’s a freaking coffee shop after all!

That was the last time I went there, I definitely wouldn’t go there again. I like places and cafes that actually care about the entire experience and...

EDIT: The owner has responded but just like his advertisement about “specials, he is telling lies about our interaction! The price he charges for low grade food is disgusting!

Such a horrible owner!! Avoid this place like the plague.

Poor attitude that comes from the top (rude owner spreads into rude employees).

The owner spoke to me rudely on my previous visit, but I went back giving him the benefit of the doubt… same thing again. I told him to cancel my $60 order (me +1) and that I wouldn’t be back.
