The resto was nice and homey. Decor was down to earth and unpretentious.
Food was the type that hugs your soul and you can tell it was cooked with love. We had the following:
Mixed Olives (V, VG, GF) 5 Warm Italian olives, chilli, garlic & herbs
Something simple to break the richness of the food on the table.
Zucchini Salad (V, VGR, GF) 12 Roast zucchini, green beans, rocket, mint, buffalo mozzarella, pine nuts, aged balsamic
Just a salad but oooh so perfectly done. Well seasoned. The balance was just right. This was the best part of the meal for me.
Carbonara Fritti 17 Golden fried pasta fritta (3) filled with macaroni carbonara, garlic aioli, crispy guanciale, pecorino
Who doesn’t love crunchy bits? This was a unique take on the classic carbonara. Loved this.
Rosemary Garlic Chips (V, VGR) 9 Rosemary, crispy garlic, aioli
Again, well seasoned and perfectly crunchy.
Barramundi (GF) 37 Crispy barramundi fillet, lobster stock, seasonal beans, crispy artichoke, mint
This is where the meal fell a bit short. The Barra was perfect. But the lobster stock was not. There was something amiss in the stock. The seasoning was there and I can taste the lobster, alright, but there was something bitter in it, and left an unpleasant after taste.
Tiramisu (Treviso) (V) 15 Traditional layered espresso-dipped savoiardi biscuits, Marsala, mascarpone cream
How can you go past an Italian meal without having the traditional Italian Dolci, the Tiramisu? Presentation was not perfect, like a glob just splattered on a plate. But the flavour was still to die for.
And coffee of course.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal. The service was also very friendly. Staff were accommodating and...
Read moreI recently dined at Italian Street Kitchen, and my most recent visit on June 11th left me with mixed feelings. Despite making a reservation for a table of 7 people, our dining experience was marred by several disappointments. We specifically requested that the pizza be served after the other dishes, but our food took well over 45 minutes to arrive, causing my 8-year-old daughter to grow increasingly impatient for her Kids Spaghetti Napoli.
The main issue we encountered was the lack of attentive wait staff. Given that it was a public holiday long weekend, the restaurant could have benefited from arranging additional staff to alleviate the pressure on the existing employees. Unfortunately, we struggled to get the attention of the wait staff throughout the evening. It became necessary for us to approach the manager or supervisor after finishing our meal, as there was no wait staff member in sight to address our concerns.
When my brother brought up the delay of 45 minutes for our initial food order and the subsequent wait for the pizza, the supervisor's response was disheartening. She attributed the delay to the pizza being ordered after the other dishes and mentioned having other large tables to attend to, implying that our table was not the only one demanding their attention.
While it was surprising to read numerous negative reviews about the staff behavior, I couldn't help but feel that the restaurant management should have taken into account the holiday rush and either hired extra staff or limited the number of bookings to ensure a more...
Read moreSo disappointing!
Only rating it 2 starts as the hospitality from the restaurant manager I received towards the end of the night when it came to payment was fantastic, he was very willing to take on feedback, apologized numerous times for his staff’s stuff ups & even fixed up our bill because of our disappointing experience. 10/10 customer service from him.
Onto the dinner experience itself;
Service was extremely slow to begin with as soon as we were seated. Took ages for our order to be taken and even longer for our food to come out.
For entree we ordered a pizza, whilst the flavor was nice it was served quite cold & not enjoyable
For mains, we ordered ordered the prawn spaghetti which again wasn’t served warm & tasted pretty average.
The lasagna was so over cooked and crunchy. It was probably the worst pasta dish I have ever eaten out. There was no sign of bechamel sauce which made it even more dry & unpleasant to eat. Don’t order the lasagna here!
We ordered a steak however this was forgotten by the kitchen. About 15 mins after being served our pastas, we brought this to the attention of the waitress, who came back & told us the ktichen was “very busy” & would be served a steak in 5 mins
At least another 15 mins approached by & we were still served no steak. When we were finally served, the wrong steak was actually cooked and served.
Kids meal is advertised to be served with gelato however no gelato was served.
Too many poor food & service experiences here, you’re better off dining next door at Meat & Wine Co for an...
