The Fish Market — Restaurant in Sydney

I’m writing this review in sheer disbelief of an unfortunate circumstance. My family and myself have been coming to this shop for years and will speak in all fairness and pay credit where it is due. I won’t lie and tell you that their fish is good, HOWEVER poor service spoils any meal, sometimes I feel like hot chips as a quick pick me up snack, and I enjoy it with lemon. On two seperate occasions I was told that you can not have a slice of lemon with hot chips, I even offered to pay extra but was told this was not allowed. I can understand costs and am willing to pay accordingly however to refuse a PAYING customer a product and of such a small thing is just unbelievably foolish, unwelcome and literally STOPPED not only myself but also my family from buying ANYTHING from them, it’s not about the cost, it’s about PRINCIPLE and learning SERVICE, but while it’s just one family any business owner knows not to lose ANY customer and now I not only do not recommend or bring anyone there I go the extra mile to clearly point out to people their practice, absolutely incompetent and dumb managerial practice, I’ll be happy to donate a box of lemons to you as a gesture of charity, by all means you can respond to this online, let me know when you want it...

Super fresh seafood of all kinds available. The fresh market section is great for grabbing something to take home and the takeaway food section has a wide range options as well. You can get the traditional fish and chips, including all the trimmings like a Chico roll, potato scallops, seafood sticks and fried dim sums. If you're looking for something a bit lighter the they have sushi and sashimi too, as well as some salads. You can get a regular fish and chips with a drink for $10, which is pretty good. The service was quick, but I would have liked my food cooked a little longer. The chips were a bit soggy and the fish wasn't as crispy as I would have liked. It was a busy lunch time when in, so maybe they were just trying to get orders out. However, I would have preferred to wait a little bit longer and get something...

Disappointing we have been going there for years, we order large platters for functions, 3 weeks ago I ordered dinner for the Family $146.00. They handed the order and confirmed all in the bags. I got home to find the expensive fish we asked to be cooked was missing, battered fish missing portion of octopus order missing and jumbo chips. As I got home we noticed the order was incomplete and called I spent Some time explaining and the lady spoke to other staff and they confirmed they remember the order and there was missing items. requested my number and they will call me back and have a manager make it up to me.
