We recently moved to the suburb and stumbled upon this hidden gem of a cafe that has quickly become our go-to morning coffee spot. Without a doubt, this cafe deserves a solid five-star rating for several exceptional reasons.

First and foremost, the coffee served here is simply outstanding. Every cup is brewed to perfection, boasting rich flavors and a delightful aroma that lingers in the air. Their extensive menu has got you covered with their top-notch coffee creations.

The atmosphere of the cafe is equally impressive. It exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, creating the perfect environment for relaxation and enjoyment. The tasteful decor, cozy seating arrangements, and soothing background music all contribute to a pleasurable and calming experience, making it an ideal place to unwind or catch up with friends.

What truly sets this cafe apart is its friendly staff. The moment you step through the door, you are warmly greeted with genuine smiles and enthusiastic greetings. The staff members go above and beyond to ensure that each customer feels welcomed and attended to. They wouldn’t ever shy away from friendly conversations. Their genuine passion for their craft and commitment to customer satisfaction truly shines through, making every visit a delightful and memorable experience, one that brings a smile on your face and a great start to the day!

Lastly, the service at this cafe is nothing short of exceptional. The staff members are efficient, attentive, and consistently deliver prompt service. Whether it's taking orders, serving delicious treats, or addressing any inquiries or requests, they do it all with a smile and genuine enthusiasm. The level of care and attention they provide to each customer is truly remarkable, creating a sense of personalized service that leaves a lasting impression.

In conclusion, this cafe has exceeded our expectations in every way possible. With its phenomenal coffee, inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and impeccable service, it has quickly become our favorite morning spot in the neighborhood. If you're in search of a truly exceptional coffee experience, look no further - this cafe is an...

It has been about 6 years since I last visited, and the place is under new management.

I like their menu, but I was a bit surprised by the options as I came for breakfast. But the sourdough toast avocado and quinoa was so tasty! Everything was done just right.

Excellent service and very clean tables.

The owner greeted me at the door like a local, and we had a chat about the menu options and her favourite sport in the Olympics.

I like the decor and the choice of music. The cups and the flask of coffee beans on the table add just the right touch. They serve the coffee with a small biscuit even for dine in.

Overall, it's a very pleasant experience coming back here, and I'd like to try the new coffee options in the future.

One suggestion they haven't implemented: the addition of heaters. Due to the configuration of the warehouse design, the doors are very large, and it lets in the freezing cold air from outside. I ended up keeping my thick jacket on for the meal. Too cold!!🥶

Would recommend this for anyone passing by or in the area. But be prepared in winter to wear warm clothes.

Really friendly owner! Very attentive and makes everything fresh to order. He explained that they are opened for Friday night dinner specials. It's a very big space with a huge kitchen. It's a bit cold today so the larger roller door entrance is a bit cool.

Suggest the addition of heaters or modification of the entrance. I stopped by for breakfast at 9:30am and there was enough parking. However there are only 6 or 7 car spaces so not sure how it will go for parking on a Friday night.

I ordered the BLT on pita bread with fresh aioli made on site. So good! Price very reasonable. Great selection of organic teas. The green tea tasted a lot better than the usual standard cafe tea bags.

This place is worth...

As someone who works locally, I can honestly say that Black Poison has been my go-to lunch spot for over three years now and not once have they let me down. Whether it’s a quick hot chocolate run, a hearty Thicc or a cheeky sweet treat, this local gem hits the mark every single time. The little touch they add to every coffee or hot chocolate - a mini cookie - is pure joy.

Their signature Thicc sandwiches are nothing short of incredible. Every bite is packed with flavour. Their housemade ciabatta rolls are on another level, soft on the inside with the perfect crust. You need to try it for yourself to understand. I’ve made my way through a good chunk of the menu but my favourites are the Banh Mi, the Lambo & the Savo. I still dream about the Shrimp Thicc that they had during Lent, it was absolutelyyyyy delicious. They switch up the menu every now and again, which I love, even though I do miss the retired Thicc’s, the new ones still impress. The flavours are always thoughtful and bold.

The vibe at Black Poison is what makes it so special. Nicole and Lucy, the owners, are the heart of the place. Always so warm and welcoming. The space itself is beautifully designed, even the chairs have character. And if you’re lucky, you’ll spot Tato.

Lucy’s cookies are hands down the best I’ve ever had. The kinder or the Malteser = chefs kiss.

If you’re in or around Five Dock, Black Poison is a...
