Believe this was a former tip or brickyard many years ago. Today Wangal Park is a huge open space setting which is tucked away in the quiet suburban streets of Croydon near the Burwood border. This park is huge considering its located in the inner west and offers a variety of space and break out options from smaller toddler to bigger kids such as the usual swing and climbing equipment right through to a flying fox, skate / ramp area and mini basketball courts. Also has plenty of covered areas with cooking areas for BBQ's for those wanting to catch up and is very popular with families particularly kids birthdays. There is also toilet facilities and also a pond area where you can walk around over a timber walkway / footbridge. Dogs are permitted but only on leash and there is also numerous exercise equipment scattered across the outter areas of the park too. Street parking is fairly good but depends on how busy and active the park gets as this also gets a little challenging at times. All in all a wonderful family friendly park but versatile to cater for just about everyone

Come here most Tuesdays when the playgroup is on. Theres 2 playgrounds, one outside the park and then a more newer playground inside when you walk through. Both playgrounds are covered and have excellent areas to play. Inside the park also has a street library, basketball court, toilets and a skate ramp area for bikes, skate boards, skates and scooters etc. The park is nice has free bbq areas and a couple of cabanas to eat at. Well maintained and a nice park to take a walk in. Love coming here with my kids, if it gets sunny you definitely a hat. The walk isnt covered so you'll be exposed. There are exercise equipment sprinkled around the walk too if yr keen to try. One of our faves.

It's pretty much all finished. This is now a great local park. Lots of play facilities for all ages. Play ground. Exercise equipment. Bike path. Flying fox. Basketball and netball court. Grass volleyball court with a net!! Only small thing is not a big flat grass area for ball games. Good toilets. Plenty of bbq spots. Good shade areas. But the best bit is the reclaimed swamp marsh area for walking and exploring. It can close a bit early (6:30 the gates close in September I'm not sure at other months). I didn't see a lot of parking area apart from street parking.
