I have just read your review, and to say that I am mortified about your false accusations is an understatement! You have not only falsely accused a man but named the person who you allege conducts himself as “a sleazy singer”.

It is completely untrue to allege that male board members are shielding Tom. Do you know that the CEO is a woman and oversees these board members? Though I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at, it seems like you're implying that they're all working together to form a kind of "men's club" solidarity.

It's interesting that you revised your piece to accurately state that Tom has been employed by the club for 29 years. During that time, he has never been subjected to derogatory remarks or insults from others for simply going about his business.

You are now putting yourself in an unfavourable position where you could face a lawsuit for defaming someone without any supporting documentation other than what your parents have told you orally.

I am a friend of Tom’s however, I have not spoken to him in about six weeks, I came across this review by another person who told me about it.

Even if there is a picture of you at the Club, how are you going to explain Tom kissing people on the mouth, pushing himself up against women, and generally acting creepy? Are you directly acquainted with him?

For almost thirty-two years, I have known Tom, his wife, their children and grandchildren. You are damaging a man's reputation in addition to making unfounded accusations against him and on what grounds.... your inflated viewpoints? As a woman, I find this post to be utterly inappropriate, repulsive, and smug. Tom will receive strong legal advice from me regarding this matter, and I will also direct him to speak with a defamation attorney to restore...

Went here due to so many positive reviews. Sadly, we found the place disappointing and the bad reviews seem to be more accurate. But, we gave it another shot so that we could try both restaurants. Again it confirmed our original disappointment and the annoyance that we threw good money out for a second time. We later realised the owners are the same as at Merryland's and had we known this beforehand we would not have bothered. Perhaps the patrons posting positive reviews have mediocre taste and palates to find the Chinese and Italian dishes served in the two restaurants of any standard other than almost average. The prices are also very high - the Chinese restaurant prices are outrageous. I would rather go to an upmarket restaurant in Chinatown and get outstanding food for the same price. Forget getting a membership to get member's prices on the food. The discounted prices are still ridiculously high. Much better Italian food at more reasonable prices just about anywhere in the area. Then there's the cafe....Coffee is undrinkable and cakes are stale-clearly not replenished daily. The club unfortunately reeks of cigarettes, even from the outside upon approach, so there must be a smoker's area that is not segregated from the club's ventilation system. Decor is really poor and looks like something out of an early 80's snapshot. Impossible to walk through the lounge area if anyone is sitting in a chair - it's like a sardine can. Absolutely no atmosphere. Abundant TV screens only displaying sports shows. No music whatsoever - not even horrible elevator music to take away from loud talking and noise from the bars. No enjoyable visits and whenever any friends suggest going to this club, including the newly started trivia [because we are trivia enthusiasts] we all...

This is a great club with modern facilities and great food options. Unfortunately they employ a sleazy singer by the name of Tom who plays on Thursday nights. He pushes himself on women, kissses everyone on the mouth and is quite creepy. Disgusting that the club lets this go on in todays day and age. Multiple patrons have advised that they’ve made complaints about him, but the club refuses to do anything. Disgusting!

Update: I have now been made aware that the singer has been playing at Canada Bay Club for 29 years and is well protected by the MALE board members. Canada Bay club it's time to get with the times - you are facilitating a predator. Check your CCTV!

(It’s a small world isn’t it?) 2 of which have been from this club - like I said the guy is a creep. If you're a real friend of his family's perhaps you could let her know.

I know of his creepy behaviour because me and my work colleagues made the mistake of going to a night where he was performing. Thankfully there are CCTV cameras that show his behaviour. He's now had to be banned from touching people - how awful is that!? He had to actually be banned because he's a creep and can't work out that it's inappropriate himself.
