I wouldn't turn up expecting a warm table inside, but if you want takeaways, or you have the kids with you and can sit outside, it's the best place to go. Wysteria Cafe, across the car park, is stuffy and the staff are a bit pushy.. Lili's Pad is good coffee but grungy and cold.. Laneway is north facing so it catches sunlight, happy urbane staff, and the best coffee in Leura Cassiopeia coffee from Katoomba is a lovely bean, not too acidic, flavoursome but not bitter. I buy my lunch and coffee from Laneway at least 5 days a week. Everything from the quality of the coffee, chai and tea to the ingredients on the toasties is of the highest of standard. My mother says the Banana Bread is the best she has ever had. Freshly made and always consistent. Shannon and Erica are always friendly and calm even when dealing with the weekend and holiday crowds.
