The Lil Hut — Restaurant in Sydney

I thought just a nice/boutique cafe. Asked a simple question. “Would you please take the lettuce off the chicken roll before you toast it”. Response was no as I’ll have to ask the chef. Really extremely arrogant, no customer service and had a strong sense that the public needs them more than they need us. I believe in the service industry (food) one should accomodate a simple customer request. Additionally any cafe I’ve been too whether it’s in Campbelltown, Sydney CBD or even oversea’s there’s a sense a warmth and professionalism. Let’s face it where not talking a two hat restaurant here. Surely the cook behind the counter can pull a bit of lettuce off. WHATS WRONG WITH THIS YOUNGER GENERATION? Try and obtain some customer service people please. Stop making life so over complicated…. It’s not hard to be polite to a customer. Get out of your bubble you’re in. Reality check ok. You’re in a cafe at Bardwell Park. Glass Hilton wouldn’t be so arrogant.

A staff member who works Thursdays and Fridays, who is rude, abrupt, has a bad attitude, and antagonises customers and does their best to ignore you when you’re there waiting to be served. I’m always met with passive aggressive words and behaviours, with obvious condescension from this particular staff member who touches customers pets and picks their own nose in front of customers without any intent of maintaining cleanliness before handling food and drink. Raising your concerns to management is met with resistance and insistence that you’re in the wrong. Clearly management chooses to turn a blind eye. I only become increasingly frustrated with every visit. As mentioned by another reviewer, you can go to Earlwood and get the same food/ drink for a cheaper price with better service.

What a lovely find this Saturday, thank you The Lil Hut. Wonderful service from a friendly crew . Their Superman wrap did require something extra (maybe a sauce or mayo) to enhance it, but it hit the spot. Their coffee was lovely. Not the ultimate coffee taste, for my taste buds, but their coffee was so good I took note of their coffee beans. After 40 years of 'pulling' coffees (when old espresso machines actually had levers) and drinking them, I do recommend you try their coffee. In my experience what always elevates a Cafe from one level to a higher ranking is Customer Service and yes The Lil Hut crew were on point today. Keep it up young people.
