I’ve been a regular customer at El Jannah for years, but something’s really off. The official website clearly says you can swap salad or tabouli for bread, chips, or rice with most meals. Yet when you visit the store, it’s suddenly treated like a paid extra.
Today I ordered a ½ Deluxe Chicken Meal and simply asked to replace the chips with tabouli, nothing fancy. The staff refused. Funny thing is, the same issue happened when the Earlwood store first opened back in 2021 from memory for a normal meal. Only today did I double check and realize the website promises that swap option.
It’s frustrating because this kind of inconsistency has probably been misleading customers for years. I’m honestly just trying to eat a bit healthier like their own “low-carb meals” section promotes but every time, chips are the default. And if you want tabouli instead? That’s another $7.50.
The website makes the brand seem health conscious and flexible, but in store, you’re met with a flat “no, we can’t do that.” If El Jannah Earlwood can’t honor what’s advertised online, they should fix the policy or update the website right away.
I plan to report this to NSW Fair Trading and the ACCC. Misleading conduct like this shouldn’t be brushed aside especially from a national franchise that markets itself on...

Read moreOmg! Do not ever try to customise your order in an way. Asked for 2 thighs and a drumstick for the 3 piece fried chicken meal. All hell broke loose. "Sorry, that's not possible, we can't do it. The bag from the supplier comes with a mix of random selections so we simply can't do it". I said, happy to pay more because they are the only parts I eat. Continued to tell me it's not possible. Actually quite frustrated with this as every other El Jannah will do this. Best to stick with the original El Jannahs I guess and you won't be disappointed 😞
My Reply to your comment on the 31st Dec 2021 below: There is nothing really to discuss here unless this request is now possible at El Jannah now? I have explained my experience above in detail as I'm sure you want to know this as a business owner. I'm not looking for compensation or any sort of discount. My request was reasonable and I was willing to pay extra for my request which should be taken as constructive feedback from a customer that is not going back based on this experience. Happy to edit my review if anything changes i.e requests like these are allowed...
