It's amazing how the threat of a new Aldi makes one of the worst Coles in Sydney upgrade in preparation for its arrival. While the Aldi may be a way off yet, it's still a very welcome update. It's not perfect by any stretch, as evidenced by the many comments on social media, but definitely a huge improvement to what was there. Whether the orange juice or the bread slicing machines are necessary additions are debatable especually given the demographic. At least they're an interesting addition. How long they'll last is anyone's guess. Though the biggest issue with the upgrade is not what they've added but what they've removed. No more deli and no more bakery. Everything is pre-packaged or brought in. Luckily we have Earlwood Grocer's across the road which easily meets out deli needs. Perhaps that's why they've removed it here. Personally I like the changes and all thr new offerings. It's not everyone's cup of coffee but at least now you can have one while you're shopping. It also seems like they've reduced the staff numbers and installed more self checkouts, which again will erk some people. There's only one or two checkouts with checkout operators to cater to 'the older generation' or those that prefer human contact. One welcome improvement is the massive U-shaped refrigerated section enclosing everything cold behind clearly visible glass doors instead of open shelves. The store has a Garden / Farmers market style layout + glass eco-friendly fridges in cold section to help reduce emissions + no plastic bags (bring yours or buy reusable/use boxes etc in-store) and refer to Shopping Index at end of isles for product locations and isle signs for ease of navigation.
Parking is on-site or nearby with a community noticeboard located at the shop entrance just past the sanitization station (R), with a Community Hall/neighbourhood drop-in centre located conveniently next door (parallel oppsite Liquor Land/car park) for free/low-cost local activities.

I walked there and she asked me where my car was and I said not there. she asked me how I got there. I said walked. she then got annoyed. imagine getting annoyed over someone not owning a car to pick up an order. the nerve for a customer to not own a car!! lol she then asked can you say your here in the app. I replied with I don't have the app. she got even more annoyed and asked how did you get click and collect? I said.. I used the Coles website!!! the nerve of a customer who doesn't have a car ordering from the Coles website! I did nothing wrong. why do rude? staff need to be educated that not every click and collect...
