The Newington Cafe & Catering — Restaurant in Sydney

Initially the experience was good. Lovely waitress, prompt service. I ordered the souvlaki plate. The meal appeared in good time. On starting to eat the chicken I noticed it was pink in the centre... Undercooked. I explained to someone who must be the manager and he gave me an explanation that it was something to do with the marinating process and it was in fact cooked. Having had issues with undercooked food before I requested that it be brought back cooked through. The rest of the meal looked great.

On coming back with my meal the 'manager' stated as he walked away 'just so you know I would NEVER serve undercooked food'. If that was his attitude at the table, God alone knows what happened to my food whilst it was being recooked. I explained that I felt more comfortable leaving and would pay for my meal. The manager tried to recind his comment but I had lost all trust. I left $50 on the counter despite the guy trying to insist that I didn't.

All I expect in that kind of situation is to be brought my food and for you to facilitate my dining experience. Next time...

Walked had my lunch paid for it and they charged me more than what’s on the menu until I questioned why, the lady said ( oh must be a typo) gave me back the difference, then I walked out and as I was leaving I realised I forgot my sunglasses on the table went in to pick them up as I was walking out a lady followed me yelling did you pay for your meal? I felt so embarrassed the cafe was absolutely packed. My reply was : excuse I would never walk up and leave without paying for my food I forgot my glasses and went back to get them. I have no problem with people protecting their business but it’s nice also to respect clients and if she had doubts she can follow me and ask me quietly instead of yelling. I would never step...

Worst customer service experience! As I got my take away coffee and hot food and sat on one of the many vacant sofas for a while, one waiter rudely came up and started arguing that we can't sit on the sofas having the takeaway coffee, in other words he was asking us to leave...he was very rude and disrespectful!...
