We were excited about trying this 4.9 star restaurant. We initially thought this could be the gem within the quiet suburb of Newington, but started to get nervous when we realised that the restaurant offered 5% discount for leaving a 5 star review. I got 10% discount for paying cash and if I had left a 5 star review, that would have been a total of 15% off.

This place should not be worth more than 2 stars.

Food - the fish on the sushi from the Bento box order was not fresh. The green beans in the tofu udon should have been thrown out and I wouldn't have used it for my own cooking. This happened on a Thursday night as well! Presentation was quite rough for some dishes. It was clear there wasn't much love in the preparation.

Service - not much I can say. I had to get my own menu from the counter. I had to order through the QR code on the table, which wasn't easy. The only service was food was put onto the table and that was it.

Below average and won't...

Doma Japanese Restaurant

I visited Doma Japanese Restaurant for lunch on May 12th. After looking at the menu, we ordered sushi, but unfortunately, the ingredients were not listed. After taking a few bites, we discovered that the sushi contained calamari. This was concerning as I have allergies to most seafood except salmon.

The management should clearly indicate all ingredients in their menu items. This information is crucial for customers to make informed choices about what they eat, especially for those with allergies or dietary restrictions. It's a matter of customer health and safety.

The food quality itself was average, but the lack of ingredient transparency was a significant issue that affected our dining experience. I would recommend Doma Japanese Restaurant to improve their menu descriptions to ensure all customers can dine...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re looking for a dining experience that’s truly unforgettable, this place is perfect. I’ll never forget the underseasoned miso soup or the sashimi that seemed to have aged like fine wine (but not in a good way). The ambiance really transports you—if you close your eyes, you might just think you’re at at Gwangjang Market in the heart of Seoul.

The service? Oh, impeccable! I’ve never waited so long for a server to check in, it really gave me time to bond with my inner thoughts. And let’s talk about the 15% discount for leaving a 5-star review—what a unique business model. It truly elevates the concept of earning your stars.

Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for an evening full of surprises. And by surprises, I mean wondering how a restaurant can have this many...

Have you ever wanted to experience the rich night life of the winter season of Japan? Well, look no further. This restaurant provided me and my hungry hungry family of 4 with a delicious meal on such a bleak, cold night. We had been searching for food for hours before stumbling across this hidden gem of a store. As I delved into this dish, (as you can clearly see by the image provided), I was transported back to my roots of being a hungry child scavenging the streets for food. It tastes just like being at the local king-fu master’s dojo as he blessed me with his family owned recipe. I ordered 3 udon, one edamame, and one pack of baby salmon rolls. The only disappointment I got was getting a splinter from the chopsticks. I am still trying to wiggle it out. Awesome sauce. Bang.
