Mad Mex Newington — Restaurant in Sydney

When this place first opened the food was delicious! Now it’s absolutely disgusting and has turned me off madmex! I ordered nachos, the chips were sooo stale, the chorizo wasn’t cooked to the point where it was super pink and extremely mushy (lucky it’s cured so I didn’t get food poisoning.) There were flies through out the food serving area making a nice little home on all the unserved food. Not to mention, one of the workers was happily vaping in the outdoor Madmex seating where customers are suppose to sit. Hello? Why the hell would you be smoking in a non smoking zone, where your customers are suppose to eat? I couldn’t even take my child out because of all the vape smoke. Absolutely...

Have been here before and the service was good very friendly. However tonight I went to pick up food and the large lady that served me didn’t say hello- just stared at me waiting to take my order. When my food was ready she just started talking at me when my back was turned toward the counter ‘eat in or takeaway’ I said takeaway. She then placed my food on the bench and didn’t say anything nor passed it to me. Working in customer service with a poor and cold attitude won’t get you very far, someone else I know has mentioned the same woman’s disinterest in basic manners and basic courtesy. Absolutely brilliant spot — amazing food and even better people running the place. The staff are always friendly and genuinely welcoming.

What really stands out is the customer service and the care they show every single time. I used to eat here almost daily before I moved out of Sydney, and honestly, it was the highlight of my workday.
