I recently bought a BBQ from Tucker Barbecues – I made it known that I would be constructing a bricked area into which the barbecue would be installed and asked for the dimensions of the barbecue so that these could be passed onto the bricklayer – I was subsequently provided with a Tucker Barbecues published document that I was told in writing had the ‘exact’ dimensions and on which I relied – however, after I had later put the barbecue together I found that not only was the barbecue not of an acceptable quality but that the dimensions supplied were incorrect – the width of the barbecue (excluding the side attachments) was not 1170 mm but only 1020 mm (a variation of 150 mm or almost 13%) – when this was raised with Tucker Barbecues it accepted no responsibility, telling me that the dimensions on its published documentation ‘were to be used as a guide only’ – I am bemused how ‘exact’ dimensions can be regarded ‘as a guide only'
Update: I subsequently lodged a complaint with N.S.W. Fair Trading seeking compensation from Tucker Barbecues to re-configure the bricked barbecue area - after more than 2 months I was advised by Fair Trading that Tucker Barbecues accepted no responsibility in this matter as the measurements I had been provided with were a guide only - Fair Trading was happy to accept this response - the bottom line is that even if you have a document from a company providing you with ‘exact’ measurements these can, in fact, be regarded ‘as a guide only’ – may as well throw out your dictionary as Tucker Barbecues and Fair Trading have re-defined what ‘exact’...
Read moreIn light of the current self-isolation times, Albert and I turned our minds to creating a warm space in our backyard where we can look to the stars and remind ourselves of the importance of being in the moment and appreciating what we have.
Darren at Tucker Barbecues Mona Vale provided us the perfect solution! The most magnificent fire pit that can be set at two levels (higher for when the grandkidlings are around again). The 85cm diameter was the perfect addition to our setting - not too big, not too small, just right to create enough light and warmth for an evening of song and memories.
Darren also quickly produced a perfect cooking grill that slides effortlessly into the fire-pit and sits well above the embers to allow the sizzling and succulent food that is digested as we rest in front of the fire.
Darren also gave us a sensationally simple gizmo made out of bent pipe that easily slips into the designated spot to easily remove the grate with no unpleasant burnt flesh other than that on the griddle.
So much happiness from a simple moment when Darren from Tucker Barbecues met every one of our needs. Until life returns to normal and we can share our firepit with others with grander frivolity, thank you again Darren for these special...
Read moreGreat stuff!!! All online….. We just moved into a house and it has a top quality built in BBQ. The BBQ stainless and hood are in great condition. However the non stainless original grills were burnt out and needed replacement. I was able to source the right size stainless steel plate and matching stainless rod/grill for the same price as the cost of the non stainless ones from the OEM supplier. I did a bit of digging before purchase and found out that the Tucker plate and grill were in fact both much thicker than what I could buy elsewhere and via an original replacement. I don't know whether I can mention the name of the original supplier, however I had thought they were the best when it came to quality Australian BBQ products. But with respect to what I have bought the Tucker product is better, and as an example, the Tucker stainless plate is 2mm thicker and has slightly raised sides to catch sauce etc. In use now, they are fantastic products. To add also is that delivery was seamless. I cant say a single bad word about the...
