I was more than happy to comply with leaving my little dog outside, and this is after checking prior, with owner Vince that it would be ok to have her inside. I am not one to argue with rules and regulations but I was rather astounded by the treatment I received whilst there last week. I was verbally berated in front of other patrons by the burly male worker "we could lose our licence having a dog in here" ;and basically was ushered outside with my dog. I wasn't shown a suitable place to tie her up nor was offered a bowl of water for her. After my meal I was consoled by the lovely barista who sympathised with me and she apologised on his behalf, and agreed he went about it the wrong way. To make matters worse, I was then 'accosted 'by him outside whilst leaving and asked why I didn't speak to him about my gripe, and why I spoke to the barista. For one I don't remember him approaching me whilst inside and secondly one shouldn't have to justify having a conversation with somebody else. He went on to explain his loyalties to the cafe and I can respect that. Sadly, I found his apology insincere and very defensive. In all fairness the food and coffee was good, but the whole experience left a bitter taste with me. In an industry which is there to serve and welcome patrons I found that he let a very nice little establishment down. Bullying, disrespect and intimidation should not be accepted in any sectors by anybody. It pleases me to know that Manly has many other establishments that are more than happy to welcome me and my little...

Went there because of the good reviews, but unfortunately left disappointed. I love a big breakfast so that's what I always go for. Generally a good massive big breakfast might cost somewhere around $26 on average and is well worth it. In this place, it is $35, so you would expect an extra large amount of food that would be perfectly prepared. The plate itself is huge indeed, though there's less food on it than most places that ask $26 or even less. The bacon was well overcooked into a pork crackle, hash browns were soggy, and bread crust hard as rock, sausages didn't taste great either. The place is very tight and small. Positive- the bottled juice was very good and fresh, avocado was beautiful and fresh, the place looks cool and to be fair - other meals that people ordered looked a lot better so maybe I had bad luck, don't know. In conclusion - the big breakfast is extremely overpriced due to the actual size and quality of it. If anyone is asking $35 for a big breakfast, it should be 10/10 and huge. Btw the 35 doesn't...

The Roast Office is your home away from home. It's an aesthetic treasure trove full of unique pieces, books and toys for the kids. There's a long wooden table right through the middle which can't help but spark conversation between the locals and visitors. Staff are always friendly, and with owner Vince at the helm the place is full of character, life and a good chat. Coffee is the best in town. The music is always great and you feel welcome always. I'm a local and practically live here. And while I'm often here solo I always feel like I'm among people who care. There's a real warmth here. Because of this I'm happy to introduce my visiting friends and family as I know they'll be well taken care of. The more you're here, the more you'll want to be. This place is an absolute GEM...

Cute kitch cafe a little off the beaten track. Which prob explains why it wasn’t so busy. We went to this place for a coffee and in that department it didn’t disappoint. One of the best that we had in Manly. Just a little note for the cafe - we couldn’t tell if you served food or not? No menus in sight and nothing mentioning food on any of your boards? If there was a menu on the window (did we somehow miss it as there is a lot to look at??) or near the door/bar, we would’ve picked it up to see what you served and then perhaps come back for brunch some other time. Cute place tho! Would def come back next time we visit.

Eclectic little cafe. Very much a locals spot. People know each other, the baristas and owners. It is a nice spot off the main Corso to just stop in and sit for a spell with friends or get a little work done. The coffee is strong, good size and fair on price. Breakfast took a while to come out for just being avo and eggs on toast and was pretty standard for the simplicity of the ingredients. We stop in from time to time and enjoy the daily dad jokes and neighborhood book exchange. We would probably come more often if the food was quicker on arrival and the breakfast menu was updated.

Such disappointing food. This place has a friendly feel, a lot of character and is a nice little venue so it's such a shame the food we had was just plain ordinary. Hate to say it, but felt a bit like student breakfast. $20 for some supermarket style hotcakes with some slices of bacon, an overcooked hard fried egg and tons of maple syrup poured over. $22 for a very standard brekky wrap. A real shame, one of the more forgettable brekky or brunches we can remember having out.
