I was more than happy to comply with leaving my little dog outside, and this is after checking prior, with owner Vince that it would be ok to have her inside. I am not one to argue with rules and regulations but I was rather astounded by the treatment I received whilst there last week. I was verbally berated in front of other patrons by the burly male worker "we could lose our licence having a dog in here" ;and basically was ushered outside with my dog. I wasn't shown a suitable place to tie her up nor was offered a bowl of water for her. After my meal I was consoled by the lovely barista who sympathised with me and she apologised on his behalf, and agreed he went about it the wrong way. To make matters worse, I was then 'accosted 'by him outside whilst leaving and asked why I didn't speak to him about my gripe, and why I spoke to the barista. For one I don't remember him approaching me whilst inside and secondly one shouldn't have to justify having a conversation with somebody else. He went on to explain his loyalties to the cafe and I can respect that. Sadly, I found his apology insincere and very defensive. In all fairness the food and coffee was good, but the whole experience left a bitter taste with me. In an industry which is there to serve and welcome patrons I found that he let a very nice little establishment down. Bullying, disrespect and intimidation should not be accepted in any sectors by anybody. It pleases me to know that Manly has many other establishments that are more than happy to welcome me and my little...
Read moreWent there because of the good reviews, but unfortunately left disappointed. I love a big breakfast so that's what I always go for. Generally a good massive big breakfast might cost somewhere around $26 on average and is well worth it. In this place, it is $35, so you would expect an extra large amount of food that would be perfectly prepared. The plate itself is huge indeed, though there's less food on it than most places that ask $26 or even less. The bacon was well overcooked into a pork crackle, hash browns were soggy, and bread crust hard as rock, sausages didn't taste great either. The place is very tight and small. Positive- the bottled juice was very good and fresh, avocado was beautiful and fresh, the place looks cool and to be fair - other meals that people ordered looked a lot better so maybe I had bad luck, don't know. In conclusion - the big breakfast is extremely overpriced due to the actual size and quality of it. If anyone is asking $35 for a big breakfast, it should be 10/10 and huge. Btw the 35 doesn't...

There's a long wooden table right through the middle which can't help but spark conversation between the locals and visitors. Staff are always friendly, and with owner Vince at the helm the place is full of character, life and a good chat. Coffee is the best in town. The music is always great and you feel welcome always. I'm a local and practically live here. And while I'm often here solo I always feel like I'm among people who care. There's a real warmth here. Because of this I'm happy to introduce my visiting friends and family as I know they'll be well taken care of. The more you're here, the more you'll want to be. This place is an absolute GEM...
