The Second Home Cafe - Rouse Hill — Restaurant in Sydney

Don't like being treated with disdain at this cafe. We're made to feel we are not welcome here. The Asian staff (bespectacled guy and his fellow Asian staff) carry unnecessary attitude. First, I though it could be my imagination, but how can they get my order wrong every single time. 🔴The hot chocolate I ordered had a bucketful of chocolate. I couldn't drink it and as we poured it down the drain, it was the darkest brown! How can we even drink it? 🔴At another occasion, I'd ordered hazelnut and even though charged for it, found it missing in my brew. When I made them aware of it(trust me I said it in the nicest way possible), I was told I'd be ordered a free coffee next time, but when I saw them today, they just couldn't even bother asking me. Then, another time, the toasts were dripping with butter/margarine. 🔴Yet, another time, when I made my coffee ordered, served in a takeaway disposable cup when I never asked for it. I had to leave with the cup, but I just wanted to sit down and enjoy my coffee in a mug. 🔴Coffee usually comes with a teddy biscuit, and sometimes it's served to me and at other times not.

All these mishaps cannot be coincidence. I feel unwelcomed there, and I won't be going there now. But, bias and disdain towards a woman just trying to give...

A little disappointed with this café particularly since it has been our favourite for a while. We love the coffee made by Marcelo, he is fantastic, but the other staff were not so great. The man at the register, Satinum, kept telling us to sit down and not order at the counter, but it took the staff almost 10 minutes to tend to our table, despite telling Satinum that we were ready to order at the counter when we arrived. Secondly, the cutlery was dirty, I asked the blonde waitress if she could get new knives, she took the two dirty ones and then wiped them with a tea towel and gave them back. Another waitress, also only wiped down one section of our table, the other side was hardly wiped. Finally, as my husband was paying, he didn't ask any questions just "that's $70", the phone also rang, and he answered it without saying "excuse me" or " thank you have a good day". He began speaking on the phone and it was a very abrupt end to the exchange, not the best way to treat regular customers. The only reason we would come back is for Marcelo's service and coffee making skills, otherwise we are hesitant to return. Once again, I think Marcelo...

This café has become the highlight of my mornings! The coffee here isn’t just good BuT it’s outstanding. Every single day, Ang makes the perfect hot coffee that honestly sets the tone for my entire day. He has a true gift for getting it just right every time, and his cheerful energy makes the experience even more special. It’s like he pours happiness into every cup!

And then there’s Jel — what an absolute star! Her world-class customer service always leaves me smiling. She remembers little details, greets everyone with genuine warmth, and makes you feel like more than just a customer. It’s rare to find that kind of personal touch these days.

Between Ang’s amazing coffee and Jel’s welcoming vibe, this place doesn’t just serve drinks it creates moments that brighten my day. I couldn’t recommend this café...
