Found a brandy Tobyâs estate so went for a coffee after drop off. Unfortunately had the worst experience here. First the cashier gave me a Chinese coin as change which I just joked that the value was higher than the actual Australian currency. All good there.
Notice thereâs a bottleneck at the coffee production because the 5 coffee order before me had some mistakes. After sorting that out, barista handed me my 3 coffee and one of which was wrong (with artificial equal sugar). I went âI didnât order any equal.â Without expressing any concern or apologetic, she went equal is just the same sugar as normal sugar (just artificial). I went âsorry I donât normally take Equalsâ. The barista abruptly went âoh so you just want me to make another one!â. âYes pleaseâ I said politely. Then she went on saying âyou shouldâve checked your orderâ âbut I insisted saying well âI have never said EqualââŚ.also whatâs the cost of remaking a âcoffeeâ? And which cafe in Australia ask customers to take the responsibility to double check their coffee orders? If he/she is experienced enough, they shouldâve double checked while making the coffee, right? Unsure what sheâs trying to win over? What an unpleasant experience.
Also ordered 3 coffee but didnât offer a...
Read moreFive-Star Service at Toby's Estate Coffee Shop had the pleasure of being served by Pook at Tobyâs Estate in the International Airport Terminal, and I must say, her service was exceptional. From the moment I approached the counter, Pook greeted me with a warm smile and an attentive demeanor that instantly elevated the experience.
Her expertise as a barista truly stands out. The coffee she crafted was perfectly balanced, rich, and flavorfulâeasily one of the best airport coffees Iâve ever had. Pookâs precision and passion for her craft were evident in every sip.
Beyond her skills, Pookâs friendliness and professionalism made the interaction memorable. She was quick, efficient, and took the time to ensure my order was exactly how I wanted it, even amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport.
Tobyâs Estate is lucky to have someone like Pook on their team. She turns a simple coffee run into a delightful experience. Iâll definitely be stopping by again on...
Read moreQueues even at 5AM! The cafe guy at Toby's Estate thought that there "might be" another cafe in departures, but wasn't sure. With only 2 people working at the cafe, one was taking orders, the other doing "barista" duties, customers had to stand by and recognize their orders when they were finally shouted out. It took literally 15 minutes to get our Latte and a Flat White. Granted there were a few people ahead of us who had also ordered coffee from the menu. When I finally opened the bag to get my bacon egger, no napkins. Also, the wait time for coffee turned "hot sandwich" into "warm". Toby's Estate, never again will I pay for your fare.
Extra Star because, although it had cooled significantly before we reached the departure gate at SYD, the latte still tasted good.
PS. Yes, I am a grumpy old man...
