Tuga x Village — Restaurant in Sydney

I normally frequent this establishment but since the refurbishment I have to say - the service has been absolutely woeful. I came to sit in and get a coffee and a bite to eat. There was sign saying "please wait to be seated" - I waited and not a single staff member came to greet me or assign a seat. I watched them walk past me and completely ignore me ( I am 6'4" - not easy to miss) so I took a seat outside and no one brought a menu or acknowledged my existence.

I went to the take away counter to order and found the hostess to be very apathetic in her manner towards me. I had to repeat my order several times.

Simply the worst experience I have had at this establishment. I won't be giving my patronage in future.

For great Portuguese tarts and superior baked goods, don't waste your time here. Go to Sweet Belem or 27 three bakery in Petersham instead. Worth the trip and the service there is actually decent as opposed to this...

Fantastic food, great coffee and service with a smile. The guys here are friendly and relaxed, which lends itself to the relaxed atmosphere of the place. The coffee is very good. Not bitter in the slightest and super smooth. I've tried the Prego and Cuban sandwiches and they are delicious (insider tip, ask for the chilli oil when ordering the Prego). Their menu changes with the seasons (but the always have their staple favorites) and so too does the daily soups. The soups are to die for. All in all a great neighborhood local cafe which we can't help but return to, time and time again. Make sure you check it out, oh and get a Portuguese Tart when you're leaving. You...

Disappointing service - Stopped in after a run for a quick coffee, ordered and waited around 15 minutes while at least a dozen takeaway orders placed after mine were made and served. When I asked about my coffee, the barista said he’d “start it now” and explained that they always do takeaways first – it’s a rule!!

This isn’t the first time it’s happened, and it makes no sense to prioritise takeaways over people sitting in. I ended up leaving without my coffee that I paid for because I had to get to a meeting.
