Edit: tried this place again to give them the befefit of the doubt. There was no queue when I ordered and the serving woman was different today. I waited 10 minutes this time for my order, which was bigger even, and the food came out hot and exactly as ordered.
Double decker chicken burger, double decker wagyu and chips, plus a wagyu skewer platter. Beef burger was decent, if drowning in sauce. They've now got the correct containers so when we got home the burgers were actually still assembled properly. The chicken burger was the star - the chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy and seasoned really well; it was quite tasty and flavourful. Both burgers are the hold-on-with-both-hands-and-don't-wear-white-while-eating kind as they're packed full and the juices and sauces make it difficult to manage after a few bites. The onions in the beef burger could be a bit more cooked as they're basically raw, but other than that, no real complaints. Hopefully my last visit was a bad night and today's is more their norm - if so, we'll definitely be ordering from here more often.
Original review:
I waited 40 minutes for my order. A wagyu burger and wagyu shawarma wrap, plus chips. Nothing big, no substitutions or additions to complicate the order. 30 minutes of waiting in the rain. There were about... 10 other people waiting for their orders when we arrived. Not terribly busy.
40 minutes later I went home with a burger that was all over the place - they only have the boxes that fit burgers and chips so just a burger in it and it slid around as they put it in the bag, causing the burger to fall apart - and a wagyu schwarma wrap with no wagyu shawarma - they forgot the meat so it was just hummus, tabouli, onions and tomato. The burger tasted ok but definitely not worth the wait, and for that kind of wait time I'd expect them not to forget something as important as the meat! I mean, it's called the wagyu cart, how can you serve someone a wagyu shawarma with no meat?
I'm sad, this area needs more businesses like this and I was so excited to have them open here. But for a first impression, they've...

Read moreNow vaccinated folk can drive wherever we want in Greater Sydney, places like Wagyu Cart in Homebush are an option. This shipping container business turns out a Western Asia-inspired take on burgers and loaded fries, using good quality wagyu patties (well, unless you order camel).
The wagyu cheeseburger ($12) gives you patty, pickles, cheese sauce, relish and mustard inside a potato bun. It’s a solid way to really check out a juicy wagyu patty, but eats a little dry without the bright red tang of ketchup. To my palate, this made the wagyu beef burger ($14) with lettuce, tomato, beetroot, onion, cheese sauce, special sauce and BBQ sauce a better, juicier option.
Wagyu beef loaded fries ($23) give you pulled beef rib piled on fairly standard fries under lashings of cheese sauce and special sauce. The richness is cut by pickles and fried onions. It’s hella messy for a car picnic (it was very windy on the day we dined), but now their outdoor tables are operational. My only complaint is the cheese sauce lacked intensity that would come from a heavier hand with the American red cheddar. However I was glad to see them carry sugar-free drinks, like pear and apple...
