Cancelling my membership after many years and won’t be back to Blacktown Workers or Sportsclub, and neither will my family and friends. Ever since the Blue Gum cafe and Eucalyptus restaurant at Blacktown Workers have been taken over by new ones (Marlos and Lusso), old staff have left (eg. Jamie, Jesse) and overall service has gone downhill. The last straw is when new staff at Marlos start blaming customers because they can’t navigate their register system and apply account charges correctly so they just insist that customers have taken another member’s membership card to claim for a measly cup of coffee. It’s bad enough you can’t even use your reward points anymore except in the bar and gaming machines (encouraging gambling is inappropriate) but to be accused of being dishonest and club management/supervisors making excuses for ongoing system issues without even an apology for offending a long time member is where the line is drawn. As someone who worked in customer service for over 20 years, I am extremely disappointed to see the lack of basic service, accountability and manners. If you are in the wrong an apology is expected. Insisting you are right then blaming the system when you realize you are wrong and brushing your customer off is a perfect example of poor service. Furthermore I don’t feel it is appropriate to have to listen to club management/supervisors begging for their staff to work extra hours in front of everyone when they have already refused and a member is instead being ignored. Please train your staff and management with basic customer service and manners. If there are known issues with the system, then suggest this is fixed but considering what's left of the old staff are able to get it right then perhaps it's a training or competency issue of newer staff rather than a technical one. It’s no wonder Marlos menu options and staff are shrinking in numbers each time I visit, not to mention your kids size milkshakes (saw a woman complain then I saw the size and understood why). Will be going to other clubs not owned by Workers as my family and I have never experienced issues like this...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience when we tried to enter the club. My elderly parents were here in Sydney visiting, and we tried to enter the club; unfortunately, my parents forgot to bring their ID with them, and it was a good 30min drive from where we lived. We asked the manager Mel if there was anything we could do so they could come in; please note that my wife and were members since 2017. Mel flatly refused, told us that we couldn't enter and that we had no alternative but to retrieve my parents ID. This was fair enough, and we understood this, but she emphasised that they could not enter the premises, not even wait in the lobby while I drove home to get their IDs. So we left for home to get the IDs and returned when we had it with us. We managed to get in without any further dramas. However, when we finally got in and met with some of our friends, they told us that as members, we could have signed them in! I felt so bad for my parents to be treated that way, and to find out that there was a simple enough solution. But Mel didn't seem too keen on helping us, such a narrow-minded approach, no extra mile to help a fellow human being. When I got home, I did some research, and I found out that it was true, I could have signed them in and been under my responsibility! I would have expected the club's managers to be more knowledgable than this, and more solution focused. Their approach should be, "how could I help our members", rather than the "I'm sorry, No ID No entry" approach. Tis disappointing indeed. I hope Mel doesn't experience what she made us go through. I hope when the time comes she needs assistance from someone, she would get the help and guidance she needs rather than face a blank wall and be told "I'm sorry, we have to follow the rules, that's the...
Read moreThis the 3rd time I've been to this site now, ok my wife didn't read the information about the club, she was expecting a buffet but we were told quite quickly that they don't have a buffet here anymore, but they do have a buffet at Blacktown sports club, reservoir rd.
I have tried there al a carte roast before, roast was the best item on the plate, vegetables were over cooked and colourless and without putting there gravy over everything tasteless as well.
We needed to become members to get into the club as we were out of the 5km area, so I did the member to get there cheaper deals within the club. I would not go back the workers club, but may try there blacktown workers sports club.
The way we were treated was quite harsh, and as we couldn't find the buffet, which we found out was at the sports club on reservoir rd. The asian guy who was the on duty superviser, didn't really care about what we asked, he said we should go to sports club, and really didn't really do much to be positive about his club. So I took my family, and didn't bother eating there, due to his attitude. So I'm thinking this guy could have been a bit more customer friendly when speaking to potential customers.
If you want to avoid disappointment please don't go to this club.
I think we may try the sports club on reservoir rd. But I won't be holding my breath. Will see if the sports club is any better.
I think the place has had a reno, but I can't see any real change.
