So happy to find this authentic Japanese restaurant in the Northern Beaches. We ordered the Beef Gyudon, Yakiniku Beef Don, a side of vegetables (Kinpira) and for dessert we ordered the Apple Roll Cake with Matcha Ice Cream! Love how the main meal was served with homemade miso soup. The cake was infused with tea, and had the perfect balance of sweetness. They also gave us a small chocolate chip red bean cookie on the side which was so sweet of them! The staff were also warm, attentive, and made an effort to share the cultural roots behind each dish. On a hot day, the complimentary Barley Tea was such a thoughtful touch, and we loved the warm green tea served at the end of our meal. These small gestures made the experience even more memorable. Another highlight is the care and love evident in every aspect of the food preparation. It felt like I was back in Japan. Can say it’s one of the best Japanese restaurants in the Northern Beaches. It’s also on the main road of Dee why and there was parking available right in the front. Will definitely come back!

Amazing! Thank you for existing Yodaka! We are fortunate to have such a good quality Japanese restaurant locally for us Curl Curl through to Collaroy dwellers! For those looking to visit this is Japanese chef and family run small restaurant with a healthy menu! Quality ingredients for meal selection that is typically a soup, a main meat and sides like rice or veggies! Good tea and there are beer options! FYI: This is not a sushi and sashimi venue but don’t hesitate to try this more well rounded and healthy menu! :)

Absolutely love Yodaka! This hidden gem is run by the sweetest Japanese family, and you can truly feel the care and love they put into every dish. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared - you can tell they take great pride in their cooking. I also appreciate the little touches, like the extra teas and free drinks, which make every visit feel special. It's such a cozy, welcoming place, and I really hope more people discover it! Highly recommend giving Yodaka a try - you won't be disappointed.

can't say enough good things about Yodaka! This place is an absolute gem, and I feel so fortunate to have discovered it.

From the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted with the warmest welcome from the family that runs it, who truly make you feel like part of their own. The care and love they put into every dish are evident in every bite, and it's such a refreshing experience in a world where dining can sometimes feel rushed or impersonal. The food at Yodaka is consistently fresh, flavorful, and impeccably prepared. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted, from the perfectly seasoned rice to the delicate balance of flavors in their signature dishes. It's clear that they use high-quality ingredients, and nothing ever tastes heavy or overly greasy – everything is light but satisfying. I love how they emphasize traditional Japanese flavors while also incorporating some creative twists, making each meal feel both familiar and exciting. What really sets Yodaka apart, though, is the extra attention to detail. For instance, I’ve never had a meal where they didn’t offer a small complimentary tea or drink to accompany my dish. It's these little touches that make such a difference and elevate...

A Hidden Gem for Authentic Japanese Food in Dee Why!

If you’re looking for authentic, homemade Japanese cuisine, look no further than Yodaka! This cozy, family-owned café is a must-visit for anyone who loves fresh, flavorful Japanese dishes.

We absolutely love their Beef Yakiniku Don—the meat is tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Every dish is made with care, and you can truly taste the passion of the chef in every bite! The ingredients are always fresh, making every meal feel like a home-cooked experience straight from Japan.

The menu has amazing daily specials, so there’s always something new to try. Today, we’re excited to explore a new dish! And don’t forget to save room for dessert—their homemade healthy sweets are the perfect guilt-free treat.

Yodaka is open until dinner, making it a fantastic spot for both lunch and evening meals. Whether you’re a fan of Japanese food or just looking for something delicious and different, this place is 100% worth a visit.

We’ll definitely be back—and we highly recommend...
