the dodgy indian — Restaurant in Sydney

Very disappointing Indian experience. We ordered take away: Lamb Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, Onion Bahji and a garlic naan. We ordered the curries medium heat. The color of the dishes looked bland as was the taste. No depth of flavor, no color boom just boring looking dishes. There was no heat in the dishes too, which would elevate the dish a little. We were hoping for a vibrant, colorful, flavor boom experience especially after reading all the good reviews online. The onion bahji was very dry and lacked flavor. The garlic naan was disappointing too, dry and hardly any taste of garlic. The only good thing were the 4 provided dipping sauces. Luckily there was one sauce with a bit of heat, so we popped that in our curry, but still bland tasting. We rate this food experience a 1 star overall and do not recommend ordering food from this place. Can't really fault the staff, very friendly and assisting. I guess we were very lucky to have picked the right Indian place in Brisbane, beautiful colors, deep red tikka masala, amazing fragrance and wow what a complexity in flavor. What an incredible experience. The food was delicious and the service was equally outstanding.

We have been to some pretty incredible Indian joints in our life and I can honestly say, without any hesitation, that this was by far the best. The flavours of the dishes were incredible! We tried a bit of everything - literally from naan, samosas, bhaji, chicken, lamb, prawn and mushroom and pea curry. Then we had to try desert too of course so, (yes we had to doggy bag it up), we could fit in the desert. There was so much food, but what great quality produce!! I tried some of the prawn curry and they weren’t the frozen prawns or even low quality fresh prawns, they were juicy big king prawns!! My main was the mushroom and pea curry, I have never tasted something so good! It was honestly incredible. We went with a group of 5, spent 140 for all and rolled out of their with left overs. Tonight was a special occasion and a family birthday. We ordered our food at 5:56 exactly and received the food at 8:02. The wait time was 45-60 minutes on the website and instead took over 2 hours. Everyone was hangry and your terrible service quality absolutely ruined the night. Understand you are a small business but it is entirely unacceptable that your service has resulted in a night with tears and anger instead of the positive night it was supposed to be. We called three times and each time were told our order would be there in five minutes, the first call was at 7:40 meaning we were lied to twice. We order from you as you have the better curry out of the ones we have tried however tonight one of the mains only had 4 pieces of meat and nothing but sauce otherwise, the naan bread was cold and pretty burnt and dry. We are entirely disappointed in this service and respect that you are a small business but find that you need to up your game. If you can’t provide then stop...
