In the midland highway, Campbell Town is a must stopover. This historic small town is a great place to rest, reenergize, rehydrate and refule. The JJ's Bakery here is a great place for food and drinks. This is a nice, cosy and welcoming place with a great variety of freshly made food and drinks. Everything is resonably priced and the staff are very friendly. Plenty of comfy seating area inside and outside. Toilets available.

We dined at 1:00 on a Saturday. It was busy when we arrived, but soon cleared once the lunch rush settled. I had a Guinness pie and a Jaffa eclair. The pie was tasty, but I expected it to be a little more juicy. The eclair was exceptional. We had coffees and they were good. We were served quickly by friendly staff and our orders were ready promptly. The tables were clean and the atmosphere was

Stopped by this cafe on my way to Scamander. Campbell Town is a must stopover; filled with history and some of the friendliest folks I’ve met. The pastries here could be slightly better as they were not fresh but not the worse thing I’ve had in the world: however the grilled chicken toastie sandwich pays off well. The coffee was pretty decent.

We took a break at this bakery on our way to Launceston. The French vanilla slice was marvelous: it was not too sweet (which is often a problem with this pastry) and the custard was otherwise great (all that locally produced dairy, probably). The second great thing was that when I ordered green tea they gave me a fancy one with purple flowers and rose petals in a pyramid bag (unlike the very basic green tea we had at the four star hotel where we had stayed). The tea tasted as good...

I normally stop here on my way through for a coffee as it has been very good in the past, however the last 2 times visited resulted in extra long wait times. Visited today and it took 30 minutes to get a take away coffee. The server gave a toung in cheek appology saying they were busy. It wasn't busy in my opinion, they were just very disorganized. Others left before getting their order. Also, the coffee was ordinary at best. I will be looking elsewhere for coffee now....

We always make a point of visiting this great bakery when we pass through Campbell Town on our travels from Adelaide each summer. Tasty food, well prepared and great coffee and nice leaf teas. They have an exceptional selection of pies and delicious baguettes too. Very clean and tidy interior and newspapers which is always a bonus when stopping for a coffee or lunch. Very friendly and helpful staff. This is one of our favourite spots...
