I'm sorry folks, I hate leaving bad reviews. The food here was fine, above average even. However, wait staff could do with training in customer managing - but most importantly the kitchen is incredibly understaffed or crazy slow. It took an hour to get 4 fish cakes out for an entree. The restaurant was not full, there were no deliveries being picked up, and take away was not a factor. The menu is simple, no crazy difficult Thai dishes (drop fried whole fish etc), many dishes having the same vegetable base. My comment on wait staff was due to the most competent seeming staff member being AWOL, and another member who seemed to be in training was way out of her depth. No information on order status was forthcoming, the table of 5 that left before us was left uncleared for 35 minutes. For the price you pay, the venue appearance is on point (quite cute!) - but kitchen speed and service in general need an upgrade. Yes, fully appreciate it is a tourist town, but I'm sure they realise too. Sorry restaurant folks, you have a licence to print money there - you just have to invest, improve and promote....

We came here on a Saturday evening. We waited for a few minutes before a nice lady (owner?) came to serve us. Ordered and told us to come back in 30 mins but when we came back she said the food wasn’t ready so ended up being a 45 min wait which we didn’t mind too much. But one thing I noticed was that the lady was doing everything herself - taking orders, serving, preparing and cooking, handing out takeaway orders. As we were waiting, the restaurant was full of people that she couldn’t attend to because she was in the kitchen preparing the takeaway orders. The phone was also going off which she couldn’t answer as she was cooking the food. She looked visibly stress. I genuinely felt so bad. I saw there was a sign on the door that they are seeking junior staff so I hope the restaurant gets some additional help especially on weekends!

Besides that, the food was good. Not the best Thai I’ve had but it’s unreasonable to expect top tier when it’s one person running the show on a busy Saturday night.

All the best for...

I am not someone who normally leaves reviews on websites and I would like to say I am big fan of Thailand, their lovely people and their wonderful food. Unfortunately the food at Thai House was the worst I had ever had anywhere in the world. The entrees were over-reheated, the curry puffs were over-cooked, burnt and crunchy. Whilst we clearly repeated we did not want garlic in our food one of our main dishes contained garlic. The mixed vegatbles were over-cooked and were drowned in an over-salted sauce, my portion was inedible. We ordered take away and had we not been so far away form Tea Gardens we would have returned the food. We have now been told there is a new Thai restaurant in Meadowie which we will try next time we are up this way again. Sorry, just because you are Thai doesnt mean you can cook Thai food. P.S. Thanks Thai House......for the diarrhea both my partner and myself experienced...
