During a recent visit to Hawks Nest, I ended up at Tillermans in Tea Gardens a bit by chance, as the other options I’d selected for breakfast were busy and the outside seating was already taken. As I passed by Tillermans, staff asked if I was after a table to sit with my dog, and then found me what I wanted. So that was a good start. I was thinking of a pretty standard eggs sort of breakfast, but was immediately impressed with the choice of items on the menu. I accepted the challenge to try something new, and chose the spiced lamb mince, which came with poached eggs. It was delicious. Just spicy enough for breakfast, and a little crunchy with the pistachios. The eggs were poached perfectly, for my taste, with yolks still just runny. The toast was served separately, which suited me, and which I used to mop up the yummy sauce. My large flat white also hit the spot. I found the service very friendly and efficient, such that I was quite surprised to read some negative comments in the reviews. It was a pleasant place to sit outside. Quiet, with views across the water sparkling in the sunshine. I’d be happy to return, and feel sure that I’ll do so when visiting the area. Several times, in fact, because the menu does have options just that bit out of...

Our daughter’s soccer team came to Hawkes Nest/Tea Garden for a team building weekend. My husband and I and a few parents purchased coffees at Tillermans before dropping off our girls to their accommodation. I had brought our little cavoodle who was sitting quietly on my lap. The old male worker from the restaurant came out after we had been there for a while drinking our coffees , abusing me for having the dog on my lap. He was rude and completely unreasonable. His behaviour was offensive to not only to myself but other adults who witnessed it. We had considered going there for dinner but not after...

Lovely little restaurant. Doesn't open every day. I think it opens Friday to Sunday. But you can book an event. We walked in and all the tables had a reserved sign on them. But when asked if they had an available table they simply took off the sign. Meals looked nice. Coffee was great. The breakfast burger was excellent (according to hubby), I had the rhubarb with yoghurt and a blend of nuts and that was really nice. View of the water so you can do takeout and sit next to the water. Definitely worth a visit if they are open when you are there. We fortunately happened to see them open on the day we...

Food was what I would consider fine dining. Relatively small Restraunt. Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was nice. Slightly pricey but food quality and taste lived up to the price. Our only complaint was they the only menu option was the 3 course. We rarely eat more than two courses and often share an entree or desert. I feel a 2 course option would have been appropriate. Also the crème brûlée was a bit heavy with the sage. We would dine here again on our next visit to tea gardens but would have to starve ourselves before tackling 3 courses each.
