Read moreGreetings Pensioners,
You know life is very short - visitors to Noosa seem to complain that eating out here costs money. What do they want? If they want a cheap meal go to the Salvation Army kitchen in a bankrupt city. I am not sure they have one in Noosa? If you book a restaurant have look at the prices before you go - work out what you want - idiots. There is no need to be wasteful.
The restaurant industry is suffering because of very high inflation , limited ingredient's and because it is very difficult to get local staff.
So if you eat out here speak to your bank manager and pay up. You get what you pay for in life - the Government's will not pay for your food unless you are a politician or one of their advisors and it is now very difficult to get long lunches as a tax deduction, any more.
My bride, daughter and her entourage went to Lucio's for Xmas day last. Lucio's had 2 sitting. Matteo and his staff did a great job. They worked very very hard. The Chef eventually came to see us all at the end to explain the history of our marvellous sweet.
Xmas day was totally booked out. It is one of the best REAL Italian restaurant here. A creative Italian menu was offered -with the best local ingredients, it was first rate.
Don't expect it to be cheap but it is very competitive given the alternatives. My bride and daughter don't want to cook on such a great day. I don't want to do the dishes either. So I decide to spend my daughter inheritance on one of my last xmas days.
I looked at other options. Lucio's has a great out look. There is another place with a beach out look that charges $350 a head and they include THEIR wines! They sell Xmas day bookings out in 24 hours as soon as they open bookings.
I prefer to buy my own wine at Lucio's, which I could do. There is another spot with a nice river view and quite average "flash" food that will charge you thousands of dollar's to entertain your "family" & friends, if you really need to impress them any more.
It pays to be unassuming and not...
Read moreMy Partner and I had dinner here on a very quiet Saturday evening. We were seated outside which was fine as we were overlooking the River, however we did feel as though we were being cooked alive what with the overhead heaters which were on for whatever reason unbeknownst to us. It was only 19°C outside.
To start, we had the Bug Bon Bons with Honey Mustard Sauce and the Tuna Crudo which was Sashimi Grade Tuna ‘Ribbons’ with Crushed Tomatoes, Almond Cream, Olive & Capers. We thoroughly enjoyed both of these dishes.
For our Mains, my Partner had the Mushroom Agnolotti with Parmesan Sauce, Rocket Pesto & Shaved Almonds. The portion size was absolutely minuscule. My Partner was shocked at the pitiful serving size, given it had a $42.00 price attached to it and the taste was quite average. Nothing noteworthy.
I had the Wagyu Striploin MBS 4-5 with Roasted Cauliflower Puree & Florets and a side of Twice Cooked Fries. Regrettably the Fries were the only truly enjoyable thing present. The Striploin was barely warm and the amount of gristle I had to remove was very disappointing, especially as it had been served already cut in several pieces and so whomever prepared it would have seen the amount of sinew on this steak and yet still thought it was okay to serve.
Despite the aforementioned, our servers were very kind and attentive.
Total cost of the evening was $236.00
Personally I feel the prices at Lucio’s do not reflect the quality and quantity you are served. The atmosphere and service perhaps but definitely not the quality and quantity. Given that it is also located in Tewantin and NOT in Noosa should also be reflected in the pricing.
EDIT: Following my review, Matteo from Lucio’s reached out to me personally to discuss the experience. He was very kind and professional, took the feedback seriously, and even offered a Gift Voucher for us to use on a future visit, which was greatly...
