Well this is the first time I have ever not been able to eat Xiao Long Bao. Seriously. They were filled with a mushy sludge not the usual firm parcel of meat with delicious bit of juice that I have grown to love. The prawn dumplings were nothing but frozen bought ones from the supermarket. Tasteless. The "special" fried rice was ok but extremely light on everything but rice. Had to ask twice for bowls. I was kind of excited when we got there. The place wasn't really clean which piqued my interest as some of the best Chinese I have ever eaten has been in such places kind of a focus on the food and not much else but MAN! Nope! My wife is Chinese which makes my kids half Chinese. Being that we eat that at home everyday our kids won't eat much else when we are away (except a bit of Maccas every now and then). Take them to and Italian restaurant or whatever and a bit of picking, a mouthful or two and that's it. And I have...
Read moreHave been going to this restaurant for years, very loyal customer. I ordered chicken chow mein and it literally had 2.5 slices of chicken, no vegetables and a huge service of noodles. I called to advise and the lady on the phone started to argue with me. Instead of taking responsibility and offering to replace the dish or give a refund she laughed at me and told me I was wrong. What I didn’t mention is the Mongolian beef was basically half onion, but I didn’t want to complain about that. I will sadly not be returning to this restaurant again and I will now become a weekly customer if Jans Chinese just...
Read moreWe were really happy with our visit to Ocean Chinese Restaurant. We ordered one serving of prawn wontons to share between three people, along with stir fried noodles and fried rice. The food was generally good. The stir fried dishes were a little salty and oily for my taste but since we shared everything it did not feel overwhelming.
What impressed us most was the service. The staff were very attentive and thoughtful, especially towards families with young children like ours. We will definitely come back the next time we are in...
