First impression walking past this place, i was like, wow, you can choose from a great selection of fish fillets. And a nice selection of species to choose from. Unfortunately, upon closer inspection, the selection they had was surprisingly not fresh, and hardly the quality I expected for the species they had and being right by the sea. So, I selected what looked the best. Young staff are not very cluey or have any control of your order. Bloke on the fryer, had no respect for the customer asking kindly for him to slightly under cook the fish, as i noticed other customers fish were clearly over cooked and dry. He refused to fulfil my request. He said you can get sick lol. Apparently, he knows more about cooking fish than I do. So I should have cancelled my order there and then. Instead, I gave him the chance to shine. But yet another disappointment. This guy has got no idea how to cook fish & chips. Fish over cooked and dry!! Flaking batter, disgusting! fish tasted horrible. The piece i ordered was long and good size. What i got served was less than half the size and thin. I should have stood there and watched the girl take it out and give it to the cook. In the end, i didn't finish the food. Never again at this place. The one on the beach front runs circles around these guys. Do I recommend them, No way! Look at the pictures and decide for yourself, lol. The owner is disrespectful of customer requests. Hopefully, they can use this information to improve ... it always pays to listen to the customer request because you just might learn something new and increase your ratings at the same time. I am a deep sea fisherman, and i cook fish in many different styles and battered fish in many different tectures to the desired requirements. I also do amazing island raw fish in coconut cream salad that everyone loves. I have eaten some of the best fish & chips in Australia. I know you can undercook fish, even raw fish lol and it won't make you sick, as you say. However, you could be right about yours.

Decent fish and chips shop near the waterfront. It's a seafood joint among the shops that run along the edge of The Entrance. Directly across from it is The Waterfront, where you'll find the walking track and the bridge. I ordered the battered flathead and chips, which was the special of the day and went for $14 (from the usual $16.50). The fish itself was okay. I wished that the batter was lighter and crispier though. It was a bit too doughy and quickly became soggy. The chips were good; nicely cut. The tartare sauce was an add-on, the small packet cost $1. It was tasty, and quite possibly homemade too (?). The place was comfortable - it wasn't too crowded, so it was a good place to sit down with a friend and just chat. They provide hot sauce and chicken salt, both of which you have to grab yourself at the counter. The cutlery they provide was plastic, also at the counter, which was not as comfortable as stainless steel. Overall, it's not a bad place to stop by and grab a bite. If I were to go back, I would probably get the grilled fish to be honest.

A year ago I wrote a review of Big Tuna's lunch. Yesterday we again drove there from Sydney for a special occasion – no regrets whatsoever: the same big portions of the freshest produce. The meals are very tasty. It was a joy to have lunch at Big Tuna Fish. The (lunch) meal included fish+chips+salad. (I asked for no chips). Instead of the usual and simplistic Garden salad or whatever other primitive variety is often served in such cases – I was offered a choice of 4 salads: Garden, Greek, Mango & Chilli, and Fresh fig & Avocado salads. I tried all of them. All the vegetables in the salads were fresh and ripe. The salads were delicious. The Grilled Barra was also absolutely fresh. The Barra fillet was perfectly grilled. The portion was big – unfortunately my photo doesn't do justice to the meal at all. PS: Please, also disregard the slightly eaten part of the fish – I couldn't resist trying it before taking the picture. :)

The service didn't deserve a star at all. We took our overseas visitor of French heritage to this place for lunch. The menu board stated their menu and I ordered two packs of their Grilled fish packs @$25 each and the Battered Barramundi with chips and salad for $27 as clearly stated on the menu boards. When we got our order, my Barramundi meal came with no chips. When I went to ask the staff who took the order, she lied and pretended that she didn't know that I wanted chips. I said that it is clearly on their menu board and she should know what was on it too. Instead, she tried to charge me $6 for chips instead of giving me a refund. She was ignorant and showed no efforts to remedy the issue. I told her that, it was a fraud and very bad customer services. We have never been unfairly treated this way before until this visit. Our friend who offered to pay for our order was horrified with the blatant dishonesty by the staff saying that My Big Big Tuna restaurant lack ethics and wondered how often it cheated its customers. Rest assured that we will not be returning to this place nor would we recommend it anymore to our friends and networks like we used too. I would add photos of the menu board if it was...

Absolutely Fantastic Experience at Big Tuna Fish Co! I had an amazing meal at Big Tuna Fish Co. this place truly lives up to its great reputation. The food was super fresh and full of flavor. I ordered the grilled barramundi with chips and greek salad, and it was cooked perfectly tender, juicy, and packed with goodness. The portion sizes were extremely generous, and everything came out hot and beautifully presented. Their grilled options are a must-try, especially the barramundi and grilled king prawns. The chips were crispy, the salad was fresh, and even the tartare sauce and salad dressing was amazing. You can really tell they care about quality here. What really made the experience stand out was the customer service. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and super attentive they checked in to make sure everything was great without being overbearing. It’s rare to find such genuinely good service these days. The vibe was relaxed and clean, perfect for a casual lunch or dinner by the water. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeaway, I highly recommend Big Tuna Fish Co if you're in the area. I'll...
