We pre booked a table for 4 for NYE. They called 2 days prior to confirm our booking and advise they are doing a set menu for $95 pp. I had been multiple times before and have always had a great experience so we were fine with this. We arrived at 6.30pm the staff were busy, it was NYE. We ordered .... I ordered the arancini balls for entree, the other 3 ordered the salt n pepper squid, all 3 said it was great. My arancini balls looked like frozen pom poms from coles the same size, colour and shape and I couldn't work out if it was potato or rice .... these were awful! Mains were veal saltinbocca fungi ... all 3 agreed it was delicious. 1 of us had the chicken with prawns and Avocado and agreed it was delicious. On the bottom of the paper menu's it said dessert is a selection from the board ... the board inside stated, Salted caramel cheesecake, tiramisu chocolate cake Etc.... when I asked the waitress what are your selection of desserts she replied chocolate cake.... I questioned the waitress saying the menu states a selection of desserts from the board she replied No "its chocolate cake", I responded so we are paying $95 pp for chocolate and she replied yes and nodded her head. The cake came out and looked and tasted like a Sara Lee slab with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and some broken crunchie up for garnish and we were all disappointed. This has never happened before. I apologised to our friends saying I'm so sorry... this resturant has always been great. Not sure what has happened tonight. The fire works started at 9pm so we got up to pay. We paid the $489.50 and as we walked off. I looked at the receipt and they had over charged us for a Corona that no one had ordered. After the firework we returned and the waitress refunded the $10.90 for the corona. I was really disappointed in the entree and dessert that day and I'm not too sure we...
Read moreHave had dinner here 4 more times. Never lets me down. The food is amazing and reasonable priced. Service is great. Do yourself a favour next time you visit The Entrance try La Costa. You won’t be disappointed 😊
Dined at La Costa Jan 3 It was a full house and the waiter (Terry) advised us there would be 45 minute wait for the food as they were full booked. We appreciated he advised us and was happy to wait. Within 5 minutes he came and got our drink order and received it 5 minutes later. He was very pleasant and a happy character. We then ordered our entree and mains. 25 minutes later we got our entree and 20 minutes after that our mains. The food was absolutely beautiful and good size.
We enjoyed it so much that there was a family walking past deciding whether to book for the next night. Upon our recommendation they did and I’m sure they would have had a great night as well.
Thank you La Costa. We will be back Ps although we have the same surname please rest assured we are not affiliated with the restaurant...
Read moreDisappointing experience, value was not there. Italian restaurant managed/waited by south-east Asian staff doesn't scream authentic. Wait was fairly long given there was only 4 tables max at any given time. Manager lady (I'm guessing) was nice enough but the wait staff was incompetent, polite but useless. Food was rather average. Calamari rings were nice but not really crunchy (maybe lack a bit of batter), garlic bread was ok. Margherita pizza was ok too but def not to Italian standard. Gnocchi pesto was way too oily. Boscaiola was ok, shame we fond a hair in it. Veal Gamberi, meat was nice and tender, the 3 prawns were nice and big. The pepper sauce was barely peppery, too creamy and just too much sauce on the plate. No table service in this restaurant, for lunch at least. Order and pay at the counter before your meal. Would not recommend for a nice Italian experience. Will...
