15/9 We returned a 3rd time. It was packed and we initially walked away but as our memory caused a bit of drooling, we decided to TA only to find a table.
The CKT now has spring onions but the flavour was disappointing. It didnt have the wok hei, and just lacked its star power, compared to the first time.
My son had the wet hor fun, and that was simply amazing.
So I guess the quality wavers, possibly due to busyness, though same chef (I asked).
8/9/24 Yes, we came back!! Service was a tad slow tonight and my son was hungry!!!
The Singapore mee hoon did not disappoint. It was flavoursome, with enough variety and ingredients. May be a touch oily but it was consumed!!!
My don had the BBQ pork wonton noodle soup. Not much protein. Three wontons and bbq pork which was interestingly not dyed with red which is healthier. Unfortunately, after he cleared the few bits of protein, it was just eating carbs. The noodle texture was not bad but as a whole, nothing exciting.
So our overall rating should be 3.5 with 4 for last week and 3 for tonight.
1/9/24 I'm fussy about my CKT so it was my pleasure to firstly see wide kuey teow, and not the narrow ones many use. The texture of the noodle was also not thick and dry, as some have it.
The flavour had wok hey as advertised and we could find pieces of chicken large enough to be chewed .... not inflation-sized, blink and you've buried it for good size. There were very thinly sliced chinese sausages, the customary 2 prawns which were not as fresh as some other places, fresh taugeh with that crunch, and a bit of lard, I think.
There was enough variety in the flavours for it not to feel like a plate if starch, if you know what I mean. The only thing missing was chives and, of course, not being Msia no clams were expected.
My son enjoyed his mee goreng too. He does not usually give places a nod but he would like to return.
We got the pumpkin pancake to take away as we were too full. Ince home, we had a nibble. Oooohhhhhh! A nice snack methinks.
There was adequate room for the non-hotpot section. The other section seemed more popular. Must be excellent if we thought ours was good.

Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at Jack Pot Cafe. When we arrived, there were three empty tables and a sign that said, “Please wait to be seated.” We waited for quite a while, but no staff came to acknowledge us or offer assistance. Eventually, assuming it was okay since there were no “reserved” signs on the tables, we chose a seat ourselves.
I placed and paid for our order at the counter, then returned to sit down. Not long after, a staff member approached us and quite rudely asked if we had a booking. When I said no, she told us we shouldn’t have seated ourselves and pointed to the “wait to be seated” sign—as if we hadn’t already followed that instruction and been ignored. Then she asked us to change our dine-in order to takeaway!
I was shocked. We had a baby with us, there were clearly empty tables with no reservation signs, and we were already seated and had paid. Instead of acknowledging their lack of service, the staff placed the blame on us and told us to wait on the side for our takeaway order. It was an unnecessarily rude and unpleasant interaction.
I was so upset I asked for a refund—and without any apology or effort to fix the situation, they simply refunded me on the spot.
This is not how paying customers should be treated. A simple acknowledgment, better communication, or a more respectful approach could have made all the difference. Unfortunately, we won’t be...
Read moreUpon entering this newly opened Malaysian restaurant, the first thing that strikes you is its spacious and bright ambiance. The atmosphere feels open and inviting, but as one of the first patrons of the day, we couldn’t help but noticed that the tables and chairs could use a bit more attention. They weren’t as neatly arranged as we had hoped, and unfortunately, the ladies' restroom was out of service during our visit, which was a bit of a disappointment. We ordered Claypot Asam Pedas Fish, Hofun with egg sauce, and a classic Teh Tarik. The Hofun was undoubtedly the highlight of the meal. The egg sauce was rich and savoury. The texture of the Hofun itself was on point—soft yet slightly chewy, a perfect match for the sauce. The Claypot Asam Pedas Fish, on the other hand, didn’t quite live up to expectations. The sourness, usually a standout feature, was more subdued than anticipated. The fish itself was fresh, tender and well-cooked. However, we placed our order at 10:34 AM but didn’t receive our food until 11:05 AM. While not an overly long wait, it was noticeable, especially with such a...
