I’ve never rated an Augustus store less than 5 but unfortunately it seems Augustus is the latest victim of shrinkflation where the portions are dramatically reduced but the price stays the same (can this be blamed on the war in Ukraine?). The two ice creams in the photo both cost $7.50 but the cup size has been reduced to half the size while the cones remains generous. Do yourself a favour and sample their flavours and maybe buy a cone, but don’t bother with their cups. An absolute disgrace and having purchased tubs, cakes and plenty of cups in the past, I’ll do my best to avoid spending another dollar at any Augustus Gelatery in Melbourne. Or just spend your hard earned at another ice cream chain that deserves it.

It might be winter but ice cream is an all year round treat. Stopped by after a day of walking along the beach and there were so many flavours to choose from. Eventually we landed on the Nutella and the dragonfruit, madarin and yuzu sorbet and so glad we did. It was delicious. Really flavoursome and rich. Definitely a must do when in Torquay.

Most beautiful store! It’s a pity you cannot see inside from outside as the windows are reflective! Best selection and presentation besides the taste in Torquay. In the side street next to “Pond” coffee shop. Just walk past the food trucks and you will find it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went there on Sunday, it was almost empty. I got in line behind some girls right in front of the sorbet section, there was no point waiting all the way in the back of the room in front of the dairy-based ice cream section, particularly as there were hardly any customers. When the girl was done serving the girls before me she looked at me and went to get some more coins, which took her quite a while as she went back and forth multiple times. In the meantime the shop started to fill up with larger crowds streaming in. When the girl returned she started serving a customer at the back who had just come in. I kindly informed her that I had already been waiting the entire time and the gentlemen had just come in 30 sec ago (I was VERY polite). She smiled, shrugged her shoulders, said sorry and continued to serve the gentlemen. Politely I said again that I had been waiting the entire time, but she smiled again and ignored me. As someone who has been working in hospitality for many years I can say that good service is not just about making pretty ice cream scoops, but also about respectful interaction with the customer. This was neither respectful, nor well mannered, she could have just said "apologies, I didnt realise" or something instead of ignoring me. Especially as I also showed her respect by approaching her in a really polite way when asking to not be skipped. That said, the ice cream was super yummy, but I will not come back because I am not keen on that...

This review would be 5 stars because of the young girl working at 8pm on Mother’s Day, but sadly the young bloke who should’ve been helping her serve the line of customers out the door, instead spent the whole time ignoring customers and singing. Even after she asked him to help, he continued to ignore the customers. We spent a solid 25 mins waiting in line while this lovely girl tried her hardest to serve like 20+ people as fast as she could, while maintaining excellent customer service. Some people even changed their minds and left, I doubt they would’ve left if the young girl had some help. This is not the first time I’ve been made uncomfortable by this guys out of tune voice. That girl needs...
