Service was disappointing, we were looked after by a gentleman who made no real effort to connect with us. He rushed through the ordering options and was fairly abrupt when we asked one or two questions (honesty it was no more than that) The venue was very noisy but his lack of care and lofty attitude somewhat ruined the experience for us. The cocktails were amazing, the fit out is lush and the food was ok for the price; don’t expect an after dinner coffee , apparently they are too big and too busy (their words not ours), to cater for those who may not be drinking alcohol - good barista’s are hard to find so they have gone with the no coffee option! Our party all agreed there is something lacking for the type of restaurant it is as it could be totally amazing. Perhaps is the love, it felt like they are going through the motions of being amazing rather than actually delivering an amazing experience. I would give Kyn another go in time and hope that they get it right as Torquay definitely needs a really special venue that delights...

We planned a half day trip from Melbourne to Torquay and booked lunch here on a Saturday. We chose the “Feed Me” option which was fabulous. We eat started with a cocktail, the drinks menu cleverly named cocktails after well known books, in tribute to the restaurant building’s previous life as a library. We started with Zeally Bay sourdough and tzatziki, mussels with fennel and leek+feta croquettes This was then followed by tuna crudo with crisps, beetroot salad and Turkish beef ravioli The main meal was grilled chicken with shaved cabbage salad. We finished off by sharing a peanut butter parfait. I asked for a coffee with my dessert and was told they do not serve any hot drinks (tea or coffee). While there are no shortage of coffee options nearby (I got one around the corner after we left) I did feel it was a bit odd not to have this on offer. Overall, the food was delicious and a reservation is strongly recommended. We allowed a bit more time which was a good move because finding a spot to park the car...

What a great find at Torquay! We came here during our last night of the holidays and we were so glad we did! Best meal to end the holidays! The staff were lovely. We didn’t make booking (recommended) but the staff found us a spot at the back of the restaurant. It was at the outdoor backyard but beautifully decorated and heated. We actually preferred sitting outside as it was much quieter than inside.

Food was absolutely lip smackingly yummy! We had the chef’s menu which was affordable for the amount to food we had. Every mouthful was delightful! Interestingly, my fav dishes were all the vegetarian salad. Never been a beetroot fan but the beetroot apple slaw was 👌🏻. We had the beef cheeks for the main and it was so tender! Went very well with all the salad sides.

Unfortunately the chef’s menu didn’t include desserts and we were too full anyway so didn’t get to try the sweets. They have a great range of drinks - interesting cocktails.

Overall, a lovely night out and we will definitely...

We tried the $79 tasting menu on a busy Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They were happy to accomodate our diet restrictions and served us delicious food. Each and every dish was top notch and well balanced in flavours. The restaurant may look small from the front but is well laid out inside in sections with lot of seating options. I have to mention the brilliant service as well. All in all a fantastic anniversary dinner. Definitely recommend.
