I drove down to Torquay and picked this cafe out of every other place around which in hindsight might’ve been better and far less disappointing.

Due to limited and unappealing vegan options I ordered the avo on toast without halloumi. Hoping to substitute with another side option, there was actually nothing else. No hash browns, no tomato, no spinach, absolutely nothing suitable besides more avo which was +$6!!

My fiancé ordered the eggs on toast and added 2 more eggs because as mentioned above sides are basically non-existent!

Nonetheless, we’d ordered and eagerly awaited our meals (and coffee) which were brought out in a reasonably timely manner.

Much to my dismay was a single piece of bread with avocado, some micro greens amongst some aesthetically placed dukkah to garnish… oh and this cost $24!

The eggs on toast was no better, the “two” pieces of bread barely generous in size and again the meal completely lacklustre. With the addition of the two extra eggs totalled approx. $20-$21!

One could overlook the fact that there appears to be a bread shortage or that the menu really fails to provide suitable options for specific dietary requirements if the service was outstanding. Outstanding it was not! The staff constantly hanging around the counter chatting (not actually waiting for coffees being prepared) and forget about the waitress at the register who was taking our payment. She decided customer service is not necessary when paying because seeing her friend walk in and going over to say hello and hug her friend was a priority.

So if I could give the cafe a rating of zero I would, because there was not an element of anything good worth mentioning. Throwing $62.66 away was not the highlight of my day and I can’t say I’d recommend anyone wasting their hard earned cash at a cafe with mediocre menu options, abysmal customer service and disinterested staff.

Don’t waste your time and find somewhere else who appreciates customers and will leave...

Came here for a nice breakky on the foreshore and glad we did! The menu had many interesting and delicious options, with breakky and lunch available all day, and vegetarian and gluten free options. The food was delicious! We got the full pond, breakky burger, and salmon tartine. All of which was delicious, eggs were perfectly cooked and runny, kransky was delicious but could use a little longer on the grill. However we did have an issue with one of the staff. Most of the staff were very nice and helpful! But we asked for 2 sides of the jalapeños mayo when we ordered. After our food came, we noticed that the sauce was missing so we kindly reminded our server, as we understand that things get missed and forgotten. After 15 minutes of waiting, and our food now pretty much cold, we realised they forgot again. This time we reminded them at the counter (as we didn't have servers walking past us we could flag down) and were met with rude stares and snappy remarks, which was a little upsetting. We did in the end get our sauce, and enjoyed our food, but the service was slightly...

Coffee and Service left a lot to be desired.

Went out for brunch and felt really sorry for the FOH staff on, they were clearly overwhelmed and understaffed.

We got seated outside and were, for lack of a better word, ignored for a good 20 minutes before having to ask at the front counter if we could get someone to come and take our order.

The Iced coffee was very average, essentially a luke warm latte with a tiny scoop of ice cream and the regular latte was very bitter.

The cups of water for the table were not clean at all and smelt like off milk...

And finally as we went to pay for our meal we were told only after we had ordered and eaten that they were only taking cash which meant walking around to find an atm. Not a massive deal but surely you can advise this when you are seating customers or taking their orders.

Only saving grace was the food as it was bloody delicious.

I have no doubt this Cafe could have been an amazing experience like many of the other reviews on here but management need to get more staff on and a much...

I read about this café on Broadsheet so I had high expectations. I recently visited on the one wet and dreary day of the whole trip. The cafe was very cozy and was quite busy with everyone wanting to escape the rain. The seating is tightly packed. The surfer vibe is warming and I really liked the contemporary design. The space was nicely decorated, with comfortable tables and chairs. The location by the beach was fantastic. The service was fast and friendly. I was quite uncertain on what to order but the waitress suggested the brisket sandwich which was really good. I personally wanted the bread toasted a but more but was crispy. The brisket itself was tender but was a bit dry. It’s above average but tasted like it was missing something like a spicy or tangy sauce. I also had a flat white which was very good. All in all, a great spot for a relaxing meal with friends or family. The beans are from seven seeds which is known to be one of the best roasters in the area!

Beautiful Cafe on the coast with a good selection of food. I had spaghetti bolognese on toast which is served with a poached egg. It was very unique which is what I loved about it. It wasn't the best spaghetti bolognese I've had, but it was still very nice and still worth getting! The kids toasted ham and cheese sandwich was a very decent size as well, and my daughter didn't eat it all so I had some, it was delicious! My wife had an avocado on toast dish with a poached egg (I can't remember the name) but said it was delicious? They also supply high chairs and have outdoor seating, so it's pet friendly. Parking is al9ng the street on the side of the road and does not require a ticket. We were lucky enough to get one right at the front of the Cafe. The atmosphere of this place was also beautiful, across the road from the coast line which was really nice. And all staff were very friendly!
