The Decaf Coffee...
Shipping was quick and the bags are of a seemingly decent quality, but unfortunately I find the beans to be weak in strength and in flavour.
I don't use dairy milk and that could be the reason why, but before this brand I have never had issues with non dairy.
Tried a few different milk brands since last week only each time it falls flat. In fact, it is like I am having steamed milk each time which I wasn't expecting at all.
Also, going through these coffee beans seems quicker for some reason and I am not sure why because I am not doing anything different.
The last lot I bought at the start of last year from another coffee place is down to the last kilo from three whereas I am half way through the 500 gram bag out of 2.5 kilos and this was only delivered last week.
It isn't that it is good - it just seems to grind through quickly that way and beans keep having to be added. No changes in what I would normally do (single serve), have or drink when I make a coffee.
When I first take a sip I think maybe this time the coffee flavour will come through, but it really is just frothed up milk at the end of the day - even the color is on the pale side.
I have some Hazelnut coffee there so will try that out the next time just to see if maybe it is my coffee machine although last week with the other Decaf and Hazelnut both were just fine!
Only one way to find out...
As this Mikro Decaf is not strong enough for me, even in a half strength way, and won't last long the way it grinds through like no tomorrow - I will be buying another lot from the previous coffee place. I regret not doing that this time around!
Lesson learnt! In fact, new order placed which should arrive next week. đđđ
For now, however, I am going to mix some of the old one with this new lot to see if it will up the ante in strength and taste. What is left over of this new one I will give to someone else or save it as a last resort back up kind of plan.
Am sure Mikro makes really good coffees in general, but Decaf is most definitely not...

Read moreI just received the coffee beans from the store and was excited to try them. What I really appreciate is the fast delivery time and very careful packaging. The outside appearance is very good. Take the coffee beans and observe that they are quite consistent with the roast level on the packaging. However, the coffee bean size is not as uniform as I expected. Amora from freshly ground coffee beans is wonderful. I brewed using v60 brewing method, ratio 60*5, temperature 83 degrees Celsius. Cup tasting: Plum, chocolate and blackberry, almost full flavor but not strong and the aftertaste is not long lasting which can be a drawback of dry processing. Overall great flavor in the early notes. The very low acidity is what I really like about this type of coffee bean. And suitable for those who love drinking...
