UPDATED: OWNER'S REPLY, SEE FOR YOURSELF. PREPARED TO BE DISRESPECTED AND INSULTED COMING TO THIS CAFE. I wish I had read the previous reviews regarding the service and the male manager/ owner. I've come here twice. Both times were unhappy experiences. First time I came here with my partner, who is a British who grew up eating pies, trying their chicken korma pie and I ordered a soy matcha latte. They gave us another chicken pie that was definitely not korma curry and it was gravy instead. Also had given me a dairy matcha instead of soy milk. We asked about them and they made me a new matcha with soy milk but didn't exchange the pie, saying they were sure they gave us the right one according the label, as if a British growing up eating countless gravy and pies would not be able to tell the difference between gravy and korma curry.
Second time I came here today, I ordered a soy matcha latte to go. The lady at the cashier confirmed with me before I paid it was soy milk, then she went straight to make the drink. This was literally within 2 mins but she till managed to make the drink with wrong choice of milk. I was in a rush so I took the matcha and went straight to my car and had driven away. During the drive I took a sip and immediately I knew it was dairy as I am allergic and dairy to me is very easy to distinguish. I drove back, the lady who was serving me was gone and I was telling the young guy I ordered a soy matcha but I was pretty sure I was given a matcha with dairy milk. Then the older male manager or owner came to the cashier and asked what happened, then I repeated. And he looked at me and said: "no we definitely gave you soy." HE WASN'T EVEN THERE. And I repeated again "no I'm pretty sure this is dairy" , then he repeated again he was sure they had given me soy milk, implying I was lying. Then he said he can make a new one if I insist, then I said, "for my peace of mind, if you don't mind, I would take a new one". The whole time I was trying to be very polite and I myself had been working in customer service for years, plus being a barista myself, these things happen all the time. Just be honest and take the responsibility, don't blame the customer and more importantly, DON'T BE RUDE.
Being someone who's allergic to dairy, plus due to the fact that they literally messed up all the orders I had made, I would never go back again. Not to say the guy was really really rude.
Do not recommend. If you fancy a great coffee, much much much nicer and friendly staff, I highly recommend a cafe that is literally few steps away down the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHonestly I donāt know where to start, the cleanliness is questionable, the tables were sticky, the chef was wearing some grotty worn out tshirt and shorts and just looked ādonāt give a fā. The staff were not overly friendly or helpful, and didnāt care that they spilt food and coffee bringing it to the table. But the worst was the quality of the food especially considering the prices. We ordered a pork Bahn mi Roll and a beef brisket role. The beef brisket was the better of the two but the coleslaw was soggy, didnāt seem freshly made, the brisket meat was good but it arrived as a burger not as a roll. The pork Bahn mi was just inedible, they used a French stick instead of Bahn mi roll, the pork was in some sloppy vomit coloured sauce of unidentifiable flavour, thankfully the portion was so measly. Bahn mi usually comes with fresh carrot, cucumber, chilli and coriander. Instead the remainder of the roll was filled with some discoloured pickled veg, it looked like it had sat in a jar so long it had gone out of date, all the veg was an indistinguishable greyish pink colour. I am guessing it was carrot and cabbage, but who knows. It was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe pies are delicious and the front staff very friendly.
We couldnāt help but notice a bit of tension in the lady at the front. Our feeling got quickly validated by the intensely agressive and barking reaction of whom we believe to be the owner for having coffee from next door, pointing out at a note the size of a post-it on his door and venting out two times how unmannered and rude we were.
Firstly, you will never get anything by roaring and being rude at people.
Secondly, we can understand, being nice to people and explain kindly why you would request to not happen the next time, actually make people want to come back.
Lastly, calling people rude when you donāt even have the basic of greeting your customer make you undeniably lose credibility, sympathy and respect. Insulting customers that buy your product is the number one rule to avoid in business
Too bad, would have come back...
