Torquay Thai — Restaurant in Torquay

This will be the second attempt of my family’s for Torquay Thai takeaway dinner.

First time a vegetarians meal was made with beef and labeled veggie on the container, whilst another meal was forgotten all together.

Second time a soup was ordered we didn’t realise we ordered an entree but when ordering over the phone we were not given the option. Upon taking home the soup was TINY and when attempt to eat the requested added veggies there were none other then some lemon grass root, which had splintered throughout the entire soup rendering it inedible.

Both times an unapologetic and unprofessional woman didn’t offer much explanation for why our meals were so terrible.

Won’t be returning, food isn’t great or worth the money and service is TERRIBLE. Photos...

It's the simple things in life that give us the greatest pleasures. Out of every Thai restaurant that I have been too, I can honestly say that this particular restaurant serves the best Thai cuisine around. The roti bread was simply divine as it had a soft center with a crispy outer layer. The satay sauce was an authentic Thai satay sauce, which once combined with the roti, was nothing short of a dreamy experience. Furthermore, I had the pepper and garlic chicken stir fry which was amazing. After the first bite, the second and the third, I was overwhelmed with delight. We had satay chicken, vegetables with cashews and tofu, and pork Penang curry. The satay chicken wasn't what I'd call authentic satay. It was more like simply skewered grilled chicken lathered with peanut sauce which was a bit of a disappointment as there was no satay marinade on the meat although they were generous in their portion size for satay so if you are feeling ravenous, this is a good dish to order. Vegetables was nice. Penang curry was very tasty which I rather enjoyed. But would have been better with a little less salt and sugar.
