Visiting for the first time and it was very quiet, mid-afternoon. The greeting wasn’t the warmest but the girl, who seemed keen to get back to her paperwork, told me where I could sit and what was available from the kitchen, she wasn’t rude (she also told me mask wearing was mandatory but she didn’t have one on - that was a little weird - we all had our masks on). My friends and I sat on a bench seat near the bar. I had a glass of red, one friend had a coffee, the other a sparkling water. My mate said the coffee was bitter, that’s why he put more sugar in it. I didn’t try it. Coffee is a personal taste. We ordered a lamb pizza, duck spring rolls and fish tacos to share. The mature lady (with a mask) who delivered our food was bubbly and attentive. She happily took our photo and was warm and friendly. For ‘closed kitchen’ food, I didn’t have high expectations, but it was delicious for afternoon bar food. I really enjoyed it. For 1 round of drinks and the food it was $72 for 3 of us, not cheap but not expensive either. The venue will rock when it’s fully open and out of restrictions. It has 2 cool bowling alleys. It’s a huge place and really well styled/decorated. This venue seems to be on track to offer the quality hospitality needed to compete in the restaurant saturated market in Traralgon. I wish them well and I’ll be back.

Wife and I treated very well on arrival. Food was good quality, but a little room for improvement (as with nearly any resturaunt). It was a meal that didn't distract from the conversation, which is a good thing in my books. I might be a salad convert though, forgot to request veggies as a side - salad was worth the attempt. Bowling alley was a nice addition, though speakers there are out of phase and very loud, making for a very uncomfortable and distracting experience in center seats of bowling alley. Simple to fix, just flip polarity on one speaker. All up we left happy, forgot to mention speaker issue on way out, hopefully they see this and correct it.

I ordered two meals via Menulog and I’m disappointed. Fish look sad and nearly cold Chips were also mostly not properly cooked and barely warm Parma was also the same. For the price, I was hoping it to be better. Delivery didn’t even take that long to get to our place. I’ve had other food taken longer and have still arrived warmer. Edit * unfortunately, I had to report the restaurant to the council after I found dirt clay matter in my salad. I even brought it back to the restaurant and the 'manager' was to get back to me but never did. Way better restaurants in the area and that are worth the price.

I recently visited Butter Factory and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing, especially with regards to the Korean chicken and lemon squid dishes.

Korean Chicken: The Korean chicken dish lacked the authentic flavors I was expecting. The seasoning was bland, and the texture of the chicken was not as crispy as I had hoped for. It seemed like it was either undercooked or not prepared with the proper techniques to achieve that signature Korean chicken taste.

Lemon Squid: The lemon squid dish also fell short of expectations. The squid was overcooked, resulting in a rubbery texture that was difficult to enjoy. Additionally, the lemon sauce lacked balance, being overly sour without the complementary flavors to round it out.

Pricing and Portions: One of the most significant drawbacks of my experience at Butter Factory was the pricing combined with the portion sizes. The dishes were quite expensive considering the quality and quantity of food served. The portions were notably small, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and not getting good value for the money spent.

Overall, while the ambiance of Butter Factory was pleasant, the food quality, particularly the Korean chicken and lemon squid dishes, did not meet expectations. The pricing, coupled with the small portions, further detracted from the overall dining experience. I hope the restaurant takes these criticisms into account to improve their offerings and provide a more satisfying dining experience for...

We came to celebrate a special 18th birthday with loved ones—locals and those who’d travelled far. It should’ve been a memorable night for all the right reasons, but unfortunately, things started unravelling soon after we ordered food.

• Mains were brought out before entrees, and when we flagged the issue, staff responded with “What do you want us to do with them?”—not exactly what you’d hope to hear. • Some of our guests didn’t receive their meals until well after everyone else had finished eating. We had to chase up missing dishes ourselves. • Just before the birthday cake came out, a waiter returned with a duplicate main—a calamari salad we had already been served. • Another party received only their main, no entree at all.

What’s worse, four people became violently ill after eating the gnocchi. One was sick enough to miss work the next day. When we raised this with staff, their response? “We’ve been serving that meal since lunch on Saturday and nobody else has complained.”

Between our dinner and arcade spend, the venue likely made over $900–$1,000. Yet the service, empathy, and overall handling of the night were dismal. In return, we were offered a free game of bowling and two jugs of soft drink.

We can’t undo the experience, but we can share our review so others can make informed choices. Based on this night alone, they’ll be losing quite a bit of future business. We’ve already spoken to the supervisor and will be following up...
