Went there for my sons birthday. I have been dying to try this place for a while. I was so excited. Ordered mixed bag for $195 and the portion size was not what I was expecting. It was small. It says 15 peeled prawns and we got 5 and the crabs were so small they had next to no meat in them. Would not expect them to be legal size. They gave 3 small undercooked potatoes in it. The pipis were also extremely small and the meat inside were less than the size of half a 5c piece. This meal was not worth the price. There were only 2 good things about my experience and they were the sauce that it came with and the server. He was understand and explained that the actual bags were premade and that they just pour the bags in to be cooked. He gave me a discount as he counted the prawn tails and agreed that there were not 15. Thanks Connor for being a wonderful server. Sorry to say will not go back as it is not worth paying such an extravagant amount for so little. P.S I've been reading the reviews and appears nothing has changed over the past year. The response seems to be the same. They look internally and yet a year later you're still getting the same reviews but no change. Seen a review where they said it was amazing. Response says sorry about your experience. Says so much about...
Read moreDO NOT GO to Kickin'Inn Tuggerah. Disappointing seafood experience: Quality and Service Lackluster. Our recent visit left much to be desired. The value and quality of the food did not meet our expectations. The waitstaff are incredibly busy, we struggled to place an order and seek assistance when needed. When our mixed bag arrived, the seafood was mushy and inedible, and the mud crab we ordered was a major disappointment. We paid extra for it, but only received two small pieces with no meat, which was unacceptable. Although we complained to the manager, he did not take action to rectify the issue, leaving the junior waitstaff to manage our concerns. To make matters worse, the garlic butter was not as described and too peppery to enjoy, and the corn was waterlogged. Although we received a small discount, we still spent a significant amount of money ($230.47 for 2 people) for a subpar meal. The restaurant's vision of providing quality seafood at a good value was not fulfilled, and the manager's lack of concern for quality or service was evident. We appreciate the efforts of the junior waitstaff, but we doubt they will stay in such an environment for long. Our advice: don't waste your money here. PS: what a joke...
Read moreWe so badly wanted to love this place, we don’t get to go out for dinner often as we have 4 children with additional needs. Last Wednesday night I had some 1:1 time with my eldest child as it was his birthday. We decided to try kicking in Tuggerah as we both love seafood and the rest of the family don’t, it was a perfect time to go. The service was great, but the food wasn’t good at all. We aren’t too fussy with food but when your meal costs $240 all up and all you end up enjoying is the hot chips there is something wrong with the food. I splurged and bought the $179 seafood mixed dish with the lobster and other things. It was all chewy, overcooked and to be honest I was a bit worried we would get sick afterwards. The salad had lots of leaves that were slimy and had gone bad and the rice was gluggy and overcooked. It wasn’t worth the extreme price tag. We got up and left about 10 minutes in to the meal because we realised it wasn’t going to work for us. I paid and we went around the corner to rasheys for...
